One thing I like about my art for now is that you can't predict what I'm going to paint next. I don't have an art style yet so I'm doing different things each day or the same things differently. I don't want to box myself into something recognizable as belonging only to me yet because I think it'll make art boring for me and also because it's still too early to decide I want to use only one color pallette forever or draw faces a certain way forever. I'm just enjoying myself with different styles.
Last night I painted this girl below and I didn't want to share it until I'd slept and could see her with fresh eyes this morning because Ive come to realize that sometimes I wake up in the morning and I don't like what I did the night before.
It's a combination of different factors I think. Maybe sudden art growth lol or the fact that a lot of the time I paint when I'm tired from work so I guess I can't recognize certain flaws which again is probably number one again ;art growth.
For this piece, I had initially thought that I'd do some Manga style or basic line work and just add some interesting elements with some colors and patterns but as I progressed, I found myself moving into semi realism. First I'd like to link the
reference image I used to guide me in the pose. This looks nothing like the reference because I choose them to get an idea of a pose and just be inspired. Thanks pinterest for being that source for me.
Now to Tha actual process. I started with a sketch
Yes, that was it. It's interesting how my older looking female face metamorohised into something youthful but I'm a reconstructive and that's what I do😊.
The gradual changes can be viewed in the pictures below
It was here I decided I could make her eyes more interesting because I wasn't feeling this one anymore. The plan initially was to give her ghost eyes but it didn't stand out enough.
Then I felt she could do with a sharper looking hair. Somethibg more edgy so I used a different brush and I liked the roughness around it. Decided to do the same for her dress.
That's it from me. Cheers 🥂
