Hello everyone, today I'm glad to share my new digital art. It's a lady in yellow and I loveeee this so much. I thought I moved to paint red things, but I have now found that I love two other colors as much and they are pink and yellow. Here is the final version of what this looks like as I walk through the steps in creating it.
First, I'll talk about the things I loved. I liked the wispiness of the yellow scarve. It reminds me of one I had growing up. Digital art is really exploratory art for me because I rarely know what effects I will achieve with my experimentation and there really are many ways to paint a painting. In traditional art, there are only so many layers you can paint with watercolor for instance without your paper tearing up. So it's so addictive to be able to manipulate a million times if you have the time for it.
You might not believe it but I really did start with this basic sketch
I then began to add the base colors
And then I began my restorative work of adding more color to sculpt this face into my desired look. I blended a lot in this piece because I wanted a smooth look fog the face and I reduced the proportions I did not like by painting over.
At this stage, I was unsure of what the background would look like so I experimented with these effects by painting in various ways. This is where I realized that my repeated use of pink means I love it so much especially when used on a soft glow layer
I kept on experimenting but I thought they took away from the portrait and I didn't want that. Then I thought about cutting some parts of her scarf out because I really liked it and creating some effect with it on her skin. This is how I ended up with the final piece. As you can see I love to add some element of light on the character's face. I think it makes it feel warm.
Thanks for stopping by💛💛💛
