Today I wanted to make art, its been a while since I made a portrait with crayons, I think maybe two years now, its crazy how time flies. I have been so focused on music that making traditional art was put up aside for a loing time. So Im a little bit out of the loop maybe.
But the MUSCLE MEMORY is there still, so IIm happy about that.
This particular portrait was so much fun to make because I didnt know what to expect. It was a different experience, at first I wasnt sure about how it was gonna be, in fact I wasnt happy at first, but you know the typical phrase "trust the process" this was exactly the case.
I didnt give up and I finished with a drawing that I actually really like.
The character turned up like a little bit of a cartoon aesthetic in my opinion.
I like to draw with crayons because this material you cant erase so it has this feeling of each line counts and its permanent.
I dont like to use eraser because I like to flow and improvisation for me its very important in art and also in music.
The result is always raw and that whats makes it special in a way.
This was the result after I did the video
But then I was thinking of movement so I made the character with a longer hair, like a prophet, I think it looked better
This was the final result
ART MATERIALS:
BOND PAPER
BLACK CRAYON
RECORDING OF THE VIDEO: Samsung Galaxy A23
Thats it for today, thanks for visiting the blog
Until next time
