I share my new practices this time in digital. I am trying to maintain a balance between traditional and digital, that way I keep learning and practicing. I try that once I have understood a concept well in my traditional practices, I take it to digital; sometimes it turns out well, sometimes badly. Also, I hope you like the little drawing that serves as the cover of this blog.
Comparto mis nuevas prácticas esta vez en digital. Estoy tratando de mantener un equilibrio entre lo tradicional y lo digital, así me mantengo aprendiendo y practicando. Trato que, una vez bien comprendido un concepto en mis prácticas tradicionales, llevarlo a lo digital; a veces queda bien, a veces mal. Además, espero que les guste el pequeño dibujito que hace portada en este blog.
I started with some flat shapes as well as volumes and some simple constructions with these shapes. I relied on the book Fun With A Pencil by Loomis. The shapes that give me the most trouble are cubes, especially when they have very elaborate perspectives from unusual angles.
Comencé con un poco de formas tanto planas como con volúmenes y algunas construcciones sencillas con estas formas. Me apoyé del libro Fun With A Pencil de Loomis. Las formas que más trabajo me dan son los cubos, sobre todo cuando tienen perspectivas muy rebuscadas desde ángulos poco comunes.
I continued using the same book to construct some cartoon-style faces. I share the step-by-step so that it is better understood. And although Fun With A Pencil is a book that is many years old and it shows in the cartoon style, it gives many tips and steps that we can apply to all kinds of drawing.
Seguí utilizando el mismo libro para hacer las construcciones de algunos rostros estilo caricatura. Les comparto el paso a paso para que se comprenda mejor, y aunque Fun With A Pencil es un libro que tiene muchos años y se nota en el estilo de caricaturas, da muchos tips y pasos que podemos aplicar en todo tipo de dibujo.
I also made a construction of a chest, especially the shoulder and rib area. This construction was an extra in today's practice, but I saw it while browsing the book "TRONCO" and I liked it; I thought it was a good time to draw it in my own way.
También hice una construcción de un pecho, sobre todo la zona de hombros y costillas. Esta construcción fue un extra en la práctica de hoy, pero la vi mientras ojeaba el libro de TRONCO y me gustó, creí que fue buen momento para hacer el dibujo a mi forma.
Changing the neck size of our characters can help show different sizes: the smaller and more chibi-style the character is, the smaller the neck size will be. I really liked these characters I made, and I might use them to make larger and more complete drawings.
Cambiar el tamaño del cuello de nuestros personajes puede ayudar a mostrar diferentes tamaños: entre más pequeño y estilo chibi tenga el personaje, menor será el tamaño del cuello. Me gustaron mucho estos personajes que hice y quizás los use para hacer dibujos más grandes y completos.
Next, I wanted to make a line drawing of some 3D shapes, but it turned out that I couldn't capture the projected shadow of the objects well. I didn't like how it turned out very much, but I didn't give up, so I decided to change the medium: instead of using lines, I used brush strokes. All of this in Ibis Paint.
Lo siguiente que quise hacer fue un dibujo a líneas de unas formas en 3D, pero resultó que no pude capturar bien la sombra proyectada de los objetos. No me gustó mucho cómo quedó, pero no me rendí, así que decidí cambiar los medios: en lugar de usar líneas, usar manchas de pinceles. Todo esto en Ibis Paint.
This was the second attempt of my shape practice. I think it turned out much better than the shapes with lines, so now I know that I have to put more effort into it and practice more. With this I end today's practice, thank you for joining me for another day of drawing.
Este fue el segundo intento de mi práctica de formas, creo que quedó mucho mejor que las formas con líneas, así que ya sé que tengo que ponerle más esfuerzo y practicar más. Con esto termino con la práctica de hoy, gracias por acompañarme un día más dibujando.
