Since it was my first time drawing a dragon, I looked for a reference image.
I chose this digital illustration by the artist Emkun, on Deviantart

I did a quick little sketch in common paper to decide where to add the letter carrier's bag and letters.

Hice un pequeño boceto rápido en papel común para decidir dónde añadirle el bolso de cartero y las cartas.

I prepared the reference image in photoshop. I cropped it to the square dimensions of my canvas and added guide lines.

Preparé la imagen de referencia en photoshop. La recorté a las dimensiones cuadradas de mi lienzo y añadí líneas guía.

I drew the guide lines on my canvas, a 6" x 6" cardboard.

I sketched the figure of the dragon with a pencil.

Tracé el dibujo del dragón con lápiz

I added black marker to lines, shadows and dark areas.

Añadí marcador negro a líneas, sombras y zonas oscuras.

I diluted some brown cold paint with water and tested the shades on another recycled canvas.

Diluí con agua un poco de pintura al frío marrón y probé los tonos en otro lienzo de reciclaje

I painted my dragon

Pinté mi dragón

I painted the floor with a gray colored pencil. Also, all the details that were not in brown, as the smoke, the glow over the head and the red membranes, I added with school markers and colored pencils.

Pinté el piso con un creyón gris. También todos los detalles que no eran en color marrón, como el humo, el brillo sobre la cabeza y las membranas rojas, los añadí con marcadores escolares y lápices de colores.

I painted the background with blue colored pencil

Pinté el fondo con creyón azul

I added highlights with white paint, went over the shadows with brown paint, went over the black lines with marker, and it was done!

A Postman Dragon!

Añadí brillos con pintura blanca, repasé las sombras con pintura marrón, repasé las líneas negras con marcador, y listo!¡Un Dragón Cartero!
