Maybe I'm old,
or maybe I'm stupid, but I'm glad the whole Eurovision circus is over. It is not a song contest. Never was. I think so.
It is a contest of popularity of countries. Everything must be inclusive and polite. Songs can be performed in made-up languages. Any country can be represented by any foreigner. Any country outside Europe can participate. No racism. No hate, No politics. Nobody can be offended. Neighbors vote for neighbors and the country that has the least enemies wins most often.
Or the winner is the one who has to win. This is probably why Ukraine won Eurovision in the previous edition (song was ok, but c'mon...).
And I am not even sad that Poland did not win. Again. I'm used to it. I don't give a s#!+. Nowadays AI can generate better songs.
To be honest,
I don't even follow Eurovision, but like every year there is such a big buzz around it that it's impossible to miss it. Eurovision now resembles the Nobel Peace Prizes or the Fifa World Cup. Everything seems to be partially rigged and politically correct. It's a bit of a waste of time.
Or maybe I'm wrong.
A few songs from the history of Eurovision were cool. A few interesting bands have gained worldwide fame because of it.
But Eurovision itself? A freakshow. Meh.
