"Incondicional"
'Unconditional' emerged from a commission by my friend and although I had a lot of work, I made space to create a drawing for him. He gave me a childhood photo with his parents (who had passed away) and asked me to add a planet. Despite his joy and persistence in asking me to make the drawing, I saw in his eyes the longing to have his parents with him.
It was an emotional drawing because I had to create a piece where my friend could feel the love and protection of his parents who were no longer with him and he needed to remember the strength and happiness they gave him in life. I organized the ideas and searched for elements to create the artwork, not just reproduce an old and damaged family photo. It had to be a drawing where family was sacred and the love between parents and children was eternal. Although I didn’t feel comfortable working in A4 format and had to go through several failed attempts, using a small grid for the family composition, I liked the final result. I am not completely satisfied, but seeing my friend’s joy filled me with satisfaction. These are unique moments when you fulfill a client’s wish, especially when creating a longed-for artwork where those portrayed are immortalized through art and remembered forever.
What is most sensitive and profound about this request is that my friend never knew his real parents, because as a newborn he was left in a trash bin. Thanks to the parents I drew, he was able to live and feel unconditional family love.
"Incondicional" surgió por un encargo de mi amigo y aunque tenía mucho trabajo, hice un espacio para crear un dibujo para él. Me dio una foto de su infancia con sus padres( fallecieron) y me pidió que le sumara algún planeta. A pesar de su alegría y persistencia para que le hiciera el dibujo, vi en sus ojos, el anhelo de tener a sus padres con él.
Fue un dibujo emocional porque debía crear una obra donde mi amigo sintiera el amor y protección de sus padres que ya no estaban con él y necesitaba recordar la fuerza y felicidad que le dieron en vida.
Organicé las ideas y busqué elementos para crear la obra y no reproducir una antigua y fría foto familiar dañada por el tiempo. Tenía que ser un dibujo donde la familia fuera sagrada y el amor entre padres e hijos fuera eterno. Aunque no me sentía cómodo creando la obra en un formato A4 y tuve que hacer varias prácticas fallidas y utilizar pequeña cuadrícula en la composición familiar, el resultado final me gustó. No estoy complacido completamente pero ver la alegría de mi amigo me llenó de satisfacción. Son momentos únicos cuando se cumple con el cliente y más, al realizar una obra anhelada donde los retratados, son inmortalizados por el arte y recordados eternamente.
Lo que es más sencible y profundo de éste pedido es que mi amigo, nunca conoció a sus verdaderos padres porque recién nacido lo dejaron en un latón de basura. Gracia a los padres que dibujé, él pudo vivir y sentir el amor familiar incondicional.
To create the drawing I used:
- A4 sheet of paper
- A4 sheet of paper to rest my hand and avoid smudging or damaging the drawing
- HB pencil
- Charcoal
- Pen transformed into a 6B mechanical pencil
- Back part of a pen used as an extender for the 2B pencil
- Kneaded eraser
- Ruler to draw the grid for the human figures
Para realizar el dibujo utilicé:
- hoja de papel A4
- hoja de papel A4 para apoyar la mano y evitar ensuciarla y dañar el dibujo
- lápiz HB
- carboncillo
- bolígrafo transformado en portaminas 6B
- parte posterior de bolígrafo utilizado como extensor de lápiz 2B
- goma moldeable
- regla para realizar la cuadrícula de las figuras humanas
