Hola amigos de Hive, y un saludo muy especial a la comunidad de sketchbook, por la cual tenía una considerable cantidad de tiempo sin pasar. El día de hoy estoy de vuelta para enseñarles una ilustración de Denji y Power, personajes de Chainsaw man.
Estuve bastante tiempo trabajando en esta ilustración. El boceto inicial lo hice a mediados de diciembre del año anterior, pero ahora que finalmente tenía tiempo para completarla, la trabajé con bastante calma.
La tomé como practica para realizar varias cosas, como una posición de espaldas, algo de perspectiva, edificios, una paleta de colores algo fuerte, entre muchas otras cosas. Normalmente me suelo tomar mi tiempo para dibujar y elaborar mis ilustraciones de manera precisa, sin cohibirme de disfrutar el trabajo de dibujo libre, pero en esta ocasión tomé de referencias un par de imágenes de la figura oficial de Chainsaw man para practicar cosas nuevas, las cuales adjuntaré más adelante.
Chainsaw man es una serie de anime japonesa, cuya primera temporada terminó de transmitirse hace poco. Desarrollado en un mundo donde los demonios y los humanos coexisten y, pueden generar contratos entre ellos. Denji, es un chico de escasos recursos que vivía con su mascota demonio, ganándose la vida con trabajos arbitrarios cazando demonios. Un día, al borde de morir por una traición, su mascota Pochita genera un contrato para devolverlo a la vida, y de allí en adelante tenemos la historia de Denji trabajando con los cazadores de demonios gubernamentales y todas las aventuras que genera con su nueva vida.

Hello friends of Hive, and a very special greeting to the sketchbook community, which I had a considerable amount of time without passing by. Today I'm back to show you an illustration of Denji and Power, characters from Chainsaw man.
I spent quite some time working on this illustration. I did the initial sketch in mid-December last year, but now that I finally had time to complete it, I worked on it quite calmly.
I took it as practice for several things, like a back position, some perspective, buildings, a strong color palette, among many other things. Normally I usually take my time to draw and elaborate my illustrations in a precise way, without inhibiting myself to enjoy the free drawing work, but this time I took as references a couple of images of the official figure of Chainsaw man to practice new things, which I will attach later.
Chainsaw man is a Japanese anime series, whose first season finished airing recently. Developed in a world where demons and humans coexist and can generate contracts between them. Denji, is a poor boy who lived with his pet demon, earning a living with arbitrary jobs hunting demons. One day, on the verge of dying because of a betrayal, his pet Pochita generates a contract to bring him back to life, and from then on we have the story of Denji working with the government demon hunters and all the adventures he generates with his new life.

Proceso 🌱 Process
Sketch
I tried to draw a third character, Aki, but I wasn't sure how to incorporate him into the illustration, so I decided to eliminate him.
Lineart
Para hacer el lineart corregí algunas líneas y les dí mejor definición, tanto con los pinceles como con la borra. Y con la herramienta de linework hice distintos patrones diferentes para los ventanales y la composición general de los edificios.
To make the lineart I corrected some lines and gave them better definition, both with the brushes and with the eraser. And with the linework tool I made different patterns for the windows and the general composition of the buildings.
Base Colors
Background
For the background, I added a few violet and navy blue shadows to give a little depth to the image, but without darkening too much the original tone of the sky.
Luego con un pincel personalizado para hacer nubes que tengo en Paint Tool Sai y la herramienta de difuminar, con color blanco dibujé las nubes alrededor del fondo
Buildings
Esta es la parte que más me costó discernir como colorear y me enrollé un poco más de lo que me habría gustado. Soy muy fanatica de agilizar mi trabajo en digital, haciendo copy paste en lo que me puedo permitir repertir par de veces en una ilustración, pero en este caso, me tuve que tomar mi tiempo para colorear individualmente cada barra y cada ventanal de todos los edificios que dibujé. Sombrée con la opción de multiplicar y con tonos violetas oscuros, y las ventanas las iluminé un poco agregandole brillos con la capa en Luminosidad y color amarillo pastel en los fondos celestes.
This is the part I had the hardest time discerning how to color and I got a little more wrapped up than I would have liked. I am a big fan of speeding up my work in digital, making copy paste in what I can afford to repeat a couple of times in an illustration, but in this case, I had to take my time to color individually each bar and each window of all the buildings I drew. I shaded with the multiply option and with dark violet tones, and the windows I brightened them a little by adding glows with the layer in Luminosity and pastel yellow on the light blue backgrounds.
Final
Para finalizar acoplé la imagen y, le apliqué con photoshop el filtro de desenfoque gaussiano.
Esta vez decidí no colorear el lineart con colores diferentes para otorgarle un poco más de realismo, como suelo hacer frecuentemente. Preferí preservar el color negro de las líneas para tener un efecto visual más fuerte.

To finish, I flattened the image and applied the gaussian blur filter with photoshop.
This time I decided not to color the lineart with different colors to give it a little more realism, as I often do. I preferred to preserve the black color of the lines to have a stronger visual effect.
