Hello Paint Time fans! Today I have a cool looking campfire. This painting deserves the #lookatwhatihavecreated tag I use each post. Do we have any Wilson fans?
I have been wanting to do a campfire for a while, so when I seen Aham Art added a tutorial to his page for a campfire, I had to try it.
I have to say the sky is much easier to paint without clouds.
In this painting I was practicing not going back to fix things. I have a bad habit of going back and covering up an object or color, messing it up and making me want to throw it in the garbage.
So, I tried my best to do each color one by one, and not going back to destroy it.
I am getting used to doing simple mountain patterns in the background.
I have yet to try and make a mountain the main focus... but good things come to those who wait... right?
This lake was simple. I didn't have much room on the canvas, so I tried to squeeze in the background, while still saving enough space to paint the campfire and the tree.
The fire is a little short and stout. I'm starting to think that is my style. I did have lots of fun painting the layers of colors to make the flames. At the end, I was amazed that it really did look like a campfire!

I also have continued researching the Neurographic Art from Russia.
I have been watching different teachers from the Nuerographica school and I think that the concept is very cool.
It does lean toward non-Christian philosophies... so I work around that by adding a Christian twist.
I was surprised that when I searched You Tube for Neurographic art for Christians, there was not any specifically made for Christians.
That was concerning. So I went ahead and made a video where I added the Christian twist to the Neurographic art and named it, "The Visual Prayer".
Since I have posted this video to introduce the Neurographic Art for Christians, I have learned 2 more Neurographic projects, and different ways to use the methods.
And, I have my Tree of Life recorded and ready to edit.
I don't want to get behind in my acrylic painting, so I will include my new Neurographic art videos with my regular Paint Time with Simgirl posts. You can find when I upload a new video by checking my playlist, The Visual Prayer
I hope you are enjoying following along as I learn to paint.
If you are painting along with me, or the artists I am painting along with, please leave a pic of your creation in the comments.
