Hello to all my creative art loving friends! I hope you are doing well!
What do you do with things you don't like? I’m usually in no hurry to get rid of them, but I think that I can come up with something to fix it. This happened with one of my earrings.
I really didn’t like their color: dirty milky. Neither white, nor milky, but something incomprehensible. These earrings were lying around for a long time until I got the idea to paint them.
As you already understood, at first I decided to use nail polishes. I chose three of them. I decided to paint the bottom of the earrings with pink-carrot nail polish. It was difficult: the earrings are constantly spinning and it is difficult to fix them.
I painted the rest of the surface with pink nail polish. To do this, I had to wait until the first varnish dried so that I could hold the earring by that part and thereby fix it. But it turned out to be not so simple.
While my nail polish was drying, I hung the earrings on a writing pen.
At first I put both earrings on one pen for writing, but the earrings twisted and scratched the varnish. Therefore, I adapted to dry them separately.
My idea was to paint the earrings with glitter varnish afterwards. But then I wanted to add white acrylic paint instead.
It was a great idea, but I had a lot of trouble implementing it. It would seem that there is nothing complicated here, but with the constant rotation of the earrings and their very small surface, it was difficult to do this accurately.
In the end, after several attempts, I succeeded. Now my earrings look different.
I made a "before and after" collage so you can compare the two options..
Of course, I like the new type of earrings better, but I’m not sure that I would risk doing something similar again. 🥴
