Happy weekend everyone! :)
I hope you're all having either an exciting or a relaxing Sunday. As for me, I initially planned to work this afternoon, but it's so hot downstairs and the high school band is having their practice outside. It's quite noisy, so I decided to just chill upstairs.
Well, I took this chance to relax and paint something as it has been a while. I took out my watercolor set and the free 10 x 20 cm watercolor paper. I decided to draw two of my favorite things, sunflowers and the sky... :)
Looking at the sky is making me feel hopeful about the future... And I see the sunflower as something that's oozing with optimism. My family and I are moving to the countryside soon, and I'm feeling hopeful and positive about the future.
Of course, there will be challenges ahead since we're starting our lives all over again, but I love the countryside, so we'll thrive better there.
Anyway, I would like to share the process of this watercolor art work that I made. I hope you all enjoy it! Let's start! :)
I started by prepping the watercolor paper by lining the sides with masking tape to create a frame. Then, I sketched the sunflowers as well as a guide for the clouds in the sky.
Then, I started with the painting. First,I did first layer or just the base colors. I started with some lighter tones. This watercolor needs several layers to make it look more vibrant, so I'll be adding more layers of paint after letting the first coat dry.
And starting from the sky, the middle part of the sunflower, its petals, and finally its stems and leaves,I added more details to it. I mixed in various shades of each color... And I also added a little purple to the sky to emphasize the clouds. It's relaxing and satisfying to see how they change as I add more color.
And since I'm done with the artwork, I added my signature and the date today using a gel pen. I may have had to add several layers of watercolor, but I actually like how it turned out.
After taking off the masking tape, I took more photos of the artwork from various angles. I actually like how it turned out!
✨
That's the watercolor I used for this artwork... I also took a selfie with my painting... Just don't mind my messy hair, though. Hahaha
Once we transfer to the countryside, and we're able to settle down somehow, I'll surely paint more there. The house we're moving to has three rooms, so I can finally separate my bedroom from my office... And of course, that office will double as an art studio. There's still a lot of things to take care of before that, but I can already envision it. :D
So yeah, I'll end this post here for now. I hope you all enjoy my newest artwork. :) Thanks for dropping by,and have an awesome one!(^^,)/
