Geishas arise in the traditional society of Japan, which did not allow open communication between men and women. In Japan, a woman had her own little empire, her own household, which she had to take care of and the children whose education was fully entrusted to her.
The position of women in Japan was not at all favorable because she did not have personal freedom. As an ordinary woman, she was voluntarily confined to the house and completely dependent on her husband, and as a geisha, she could be educated, study, socialize with men.
Geishas were not prostitutes and this is one of the misconceptions brought about by the penetration of Western culture into Japan and the spread of knowledge about the previously mysterious East. The Japanese gentlemen of that time had a more refined taste than others and a different understanding of enjoyment and were great admirers of beauty and tradition.

I drew today's geisha with particular pleasure. Why? Because I did a little experiment. I painted the hair using the "wet on wet" technique. This means that the paint is not applied directly to the dry paper, but to the wet paper, which means that I previously smeared it with water. This is the way when you want to achieve the effect of fur, softness.
Of course, before you start painting and drawing anything, you must first have an inspiration, an idea, a will. First imagine how it will look and then let yourself enjoy it.
With a lot of painterly enthusiasm, greetings from me who wish you many SUCH moments in your life. . . 💫✨🌙⭐️
