Hello everyone! Two days ago, I went out early in the morning to Batang Kali which is becoming my favourite town now. I thought of practising some drawings as it was a time consuming travel.
Usually during my long journeys, I take along a few essentials like my hoodie, a book and water bottle. This time I took a notepad as well to write down some notes as I just finished editing a video for my YouTube channel and I wanted to write down some mistakes that I will definitely find as I watch the video for the first time. I rendered the video late night yesterday so I couldn't check it so I made it my mission to get it done in the morning. As expected, I did find some errors that I'll have to fix later before rendering it again.
After doing that, I wanted to listen to some music on my headphones. I even took my music handphone that I use specifically to listen to songs. However, I realized that I forgot to grab my precious headphones. I did put it on my bed last night to pack it but I forgot to put it in my little travel bag.
I noticed that the notepad I took along had alternating blank pages on every sheet of paper. Hence I decided to draw the headphones that I missed so much. I don't use ear phones or ear buds although I do have them because I find them uncomfortable and I don't like anything that goes into my ears as I'm paranoid about hearing loss. I use only headphones during long trips and on rare days at home to let off some steam.
The following is the process of my drawings. I drew many of them in different angles.

I did bring a pencil to write down my notes on my notepad. Drawing was not in my plan at all. It was a random idea and I'm glad I did it. I started off with smaller sketches of headphones with some guidelines.

Then, I drew a bigger headphone just floating there. I did add some shading for this to make it more 3 dimensional.

This is how I was drawing. Of course I didn't have a table or even a hard covered book. I just drew on my lap. As I kept shading with the graphite pencil, the tip was getting blunt and I didn't have a sharpener to fix it. A technique that works in such situations is to keep turning the pencil. That's what I kept doing to get the maximum payout of the lead.

I drew another headphone so now I got 4 of them. They seem a little messy because I didn't have an eraser to fix any overlining or mistakes. I had to make do with the limited supplies I had. At this point my mother was complaining how I was starting to become noisy with the shading. I told her that it was called ASMR. Hehe 😂🤭

This is the last headphone I drew and I had to stop here as I was reaching the destination and it was almost time to eat lunch.

Here's my little study of drawing headphones, done in a moving car. I even wrote my heartfelt feelings about how I miss my little escape tool of music.

By the way, yes I did sneakily include the links to my new video and channel. Please do check them if you like and subscribe if you enjoy my content. Thank you for dropping by and I hope that you have a wonderful day ahead!
