Hola amigos de esta gran comunidad de artistas!
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes este dibujo muy especial que realicé con mucho esfuerzo. Fue un verdadero reto para mí, especialmente porque quería lograr una expresión muy específica en el rostro del personaje. Faputa tiene una mirada tierna, frágil, casi inocente… y eso es justo lo que quería transmitir. Sin embargo, como sus ojos son largos y grandes, en mis primeros intentos el resultado daba una expresión de enfado, y no era lo que buscaba. Por eso, repetí el dibujo varias veces hasta lograr el resultado que me hizo sentir satisfecho.
Faputa, del anime Made in Abyss, es uno de esos personajes que dejan huella. Su historia es profunda y cargada de emoción: ella es el fruto del dolor y la venganza de su madre, la única y última hija de Irumyuui, y es conocida como la Princesa de los Hollows. Su poder es abrumador, al punto de poner en riesgo a toda una civilización de criaturas deformes, pero lo que más destaca en ella es su pureza, su determinación, y esa ternura única que es capaz de romperte por dentro.
Para mí, Faputa representa la mezcla perfecta entre ternura y fuerza, y por eso fue tan especial dibujarla. Hace poco terminé de ver la segunda temporada del anime, donde ella es sin duda la gran protagonista. Su historia gira en torno a dolor, sacrificio y redención, y me marcó tanto que sentí la necesidad de rendirle este pequeño homenaje con mis lápices.
Siento que logré capturar una parte de su esencia, especialmente esa sonrisa tan pura e inocente que, incluso en medio del caos, brilla con fuerza.

Today, I’d like to share with you a drawing that’s especially meaningful to me. It was quite a challenge to complete, mainly because I wanted to capture a very specific expression on the character’s face. Faputa has a tender, delicate, and almost innocent look — and that’s exactly what I tried to reflect. However, since her eyes are long and large, my first attempts made her look angry, which wasn’t what I intended. I ended up redrawing her multiple times until I finally achieved the expression I was aiming for.
Faputa, from the anime Made in Abyss, is one of those characters that leave a lasting impression. Her story is deep and emotional: she is the result of her mother’s pain and vengeance, the first and last daughter of Irumyuui, and is known as the Princess of the Hollows. She’s incredibly powerful — strong enough to nearly wipe out an entire civilization of distorted creatures. Yet, what touches me most is her purity, her determination, and that unique tenderness that breaks through even the darkest moments.
To me, Faputa represents the perfect blend of gentleness and strength, and that’s why drawing her meant so much. I recently finished the second season of the anime, where she takes center stage. The story revolves around her — filled with pain, sacrifice, and redemption. It impacted me deeply, and I felt inspired to pay tribute to her through this drawing.
I’m really happy with the result because I feel I was able to capture a bit of her essence — especially that innocent and beautiful smile that shines even in the midst of destruction.
