Alessandra's work as a design professor in the online education space prepared her for nuturing Hive's Creative Work Hour community whose members join her live sessions from six or more timezones daily.
‌
It's an odd job, but it's "my thang."
I hold space for creatives, even if they don't describe themselves that way. I conduct this work across nations and time zones. Every single day, I host four or more live online sessions and five on Thursdays and Sundays. These aren’t just meetings; they’re spaces for co-working, connection, collaboration, presentations, concerts, and even seeing films together.
That’s is design rationale behind my unusual selection of time pieces. I wear a five-faced watch of Moschino alongside my Apple Hermes Watch—because when hosting 150+ live sessions a month, I gotta know exactly where it’s 5 o'clock.🥂
CREW SPOTLIGHT
If you've read my CWH Daily Posts you've seen the creatives listed that come to our online studio to check-in, work alongside us, and check-out before moving on with their day. Today, I'll credit their time zone, too. In our community we don't ask where you live, only "when."

The Creative Work Hour culture is one in which we are onboarding to Hive everyday. Our community was built off-chain first. I founded CWH and had been hosting 100+ sessions when I met in a Twitter Space I was hosting my own show. A week after meeting her she joined me as co-host devoted to gaining some understanding of WTF blockchain technology is and how it is relevant to creative work. This show became HiveSpace has been aired 100+ times on X.com, but now it is on a much better platform, GoBrunch (at the end of this post you can get all the deets).
When hosting a live show together you get to know your partner quickly. What I learned is that is sold out for Hive. Naturally, she onboarded me, my partner, my friends, and my community. This is how Creative Work Hour came to be a Hive Community...wholesale!!
The scope of CWH is to support creativity and encourage our crew to explore Hive because our values are aligned. When we bring our work to the chain, it stays our work on the chain.
One of the lessons we teach about the Hive culture is that when work is published here, the time it's published has relevance. From HiveBuzz to PowerUp Days to contests and initiatives, all these things are constrained by Hive's end of a day's business as 23:59 UTC.
To prepare for Daylight Savings time changes in some just a few common time zones in the west and how they relate to UTC, here is a little cheat sheet I made to help with the transition. I hope some of you find it helpful.
An eligibility determinant for many of Hive's on-chain targets, this 2025 chart reflects how 00:00 UTC converts to these six local timezones that are the most common in the CWH Community.
