Students of real work college (KKN) Group 133 of Malikussaleh University assist with the activities of the children's Posyandu at the Lhok Awe Teungoh Polindes, Bireuen, Indonesia. This activity is carried out to provide maternal and child health services, family planning, immunization, and distribute bug gates to pregnant women.
Bu gateng is an Acehnese tradition of being grateful for the seven months of pregnancy. Bu gating in the form of rice, chicken meat, bananas, vegetables, and eggs packaged in one package and given to pregnant women. "This activity aims to provide mothers and babies in the womb with adequate nutrition to prevent stunting from an early age," explained Eli, an Integrated Healthcare Center in Lhok Awe Teungoh.
According to him, the people of Aceh have local wisdom in preventing stunting from an early age. This tradition must be preserved for the fulfillment of the nutrition of the baby to be born. "With government support and activities at the Posyandu, stunting can be prevented from an early age," continued Eli.
In addition to Posyandu activities, there are also additional activities, namely socialization about rabies or mad dog disease. Rabies is an acute infectious disease of the nervous system of mammals (including humans) caused by the rabies virus.
This disease is very deadly and is zoonotic or transmitted from animals to humans. Transmission occurs when the virus particles that are in the saliva of an infected animal enter the human body, for example through a bite. Such as cats, dogs, monkeys, bats, and bears.
The way to prevent being exposed to the rabies virus is if there is a bite wound, then wash the wound first for 15 minutes using soap and water. When finished, the next step is to apply betadine to the bite wound. If it gets worse, immediately take it to the health center or to the nearest hospital to get further treatment.
