The smell of the sea is so strong in Kuta Krueng Village, Samudera Sub District, Aceh Utara, Indonesia. The blowing winds were only able to shed the leaves and blow away the dust, but they were unable to ward off the heat, whilst the day had begun to drift. That's the weather these days, hard to guess. The morning is warm, but it's already rainy or vice versa.
The gates of the Tomb of Sultanah Nahrisyah are still locked tight. In addition to souvenir merchants in the form of stone rings, there are no visitors there. Some of the cows were enjoying the grazing.
"That's when the gates are opened," complained Ramlan Yunus (34), a young man who often serve the visitors at the tomb of Sultanah Nahrisyah. Ramlan reluctantly called the tomb guard or caretaker because of its existence there only to explain about the history of Samudra Pasai.
Compared to the tomb of Sultan Malikussaleh in the village of Beuringen in the same sub-district, Nahrisyah's tomb complex is much larger and magnificent. The tombstone is made of white marble. Some parts have been cracked and patched with ordinary cement so it looks annoying. In addition to eating Nahrisyah, there are meals Sultan Zainal Abidin, endatu (ancestors) former Sultan Pasai (or Pase commonly called the people of Aceh).
Around him, there are many tombs that are partly unknown who it belongs to. One of them, which is located under the foot of the tomb of Sultanah Nahrisyah, believed to be the tomb of King Bakoy, the former husband of Nahrisyah who myth never forced to marry his own daughter.
According to research results, the tomb was owned by a woman named Siti Wasyira. "It read on the tombstone. But people already believe it is the tomb of King Bakoy, " Ramlan said.
Princess Nahrisyah or Malikah Nahrasiyah Rawangsa Khadiyu ruled since 1400 - 1427 AD or 801 - 831 Hijriyah who is the 10th leader or the last leader of the Samudra Pasai’s Kingdom. Together with her husband, Sultan Haydar Bahian Syah, he continued the Pasai Samudra government in a period of emptiness after being attacked by Majapahit Kingdom.
According to history, when the rebellion which was infested by King Nakur, Sultan Haydar Bahian Syah died. Then Sultanah announce who managed to kill the King Nakur will be appointed to her husband and together ordered the kingdom. There emerged a panglima laot (commander of the sea) named Ahmad Perma from an area called Bakoy. After killing King Nakur, he became the husband of the Sultanah Nahrisyah and better known by the name of King Bakoy.
When Sultanah was sickly, before she died she handed the ring to King Bakoy and advised her that a suitable woman wearing the ring could be her substitute queen. Begin King Bakoy looking for women who fit to wear the queen's ring, but none of them fit. Until finally, the ring is worn Madum Peria, who is none other than the biological son of King Bakoy.
The marriage was opposed by everyone, especially the scholars. However, King Bakoy is very confident with his consort will kill the clergy to realize his desire to marry Madum Peria. Until finally, Madame Peria was rushed to her birth brother, Ibrahim Tapa, so that the forbidden marriage never materialized.
"The story is more myth than historical fact," said Syamsuddin Jalil Ayah Panton, an Acehnese cultural observer. According to him, during the Dutch occupation, many books were produced by Dutch historians who did not fit their historical values for political purposes. Like the tomb of King Bakoy, who turns out to be a female tomb.
So, where is the true grave of King Bakoy?
Not yet known for certain. However, public confidence is difficult to change. So convinced that the tomb belongs to the unjust King Bakoy, formerly there was damaging the tomb because it hates the King Bakoy. The marble headstone on the head was broken broken by irresponsible people.
The tombs of the ruler of the Kingdom of Samudra Pasai are all located in Geudong Kecamatan (Sub District) of Samudera, Aceh Utara. During this time, the tomb is visited by many local, national, and foreign tourists, especially from Malaysia and Brunei who want to see the rest of the glory of Pasai Ocean.
A bit difficult to reach the religious tourism sites if they do not have a guide. The problem is that there is no public transportation from Geudong City to the grave location about 6 kilometers away. The choice is to rent a car and a motorized pedicab that is in Kota Geudong.[]
