On my way back from my two days get away from normal life, I got into a bus that was supposed to take me halfway through my journey. The sun was blistering and I was a sweaty mess, but that didn't matter because I was heading back to my home office.
I got off the bus and then a moment later while strolling through the market/halfway point of my journey with my friend, I noticed my pocket felt unusually lighter, and after tapping it, I came to the gruesome realisation that my portable wifi device was no longer in my pocket.
It really sucked to lose that device and I damn near cried when I realised it. The shit hit hard so much that I had to take a moment to just breathe and ease out the pent up frustration. I don't know how to track it down but even if there was, it isn't worth the stress; the sim inside had like 3gigabyte of internet data remaining, and since it was exclusively used for browsing, doesn't have any relevant information.
Losing the device actually hurt a lot from a sentimental point of view. I made enquiries and the whole setup will cost me 12,000Naira($30) to replace but no amount of money will replace the good times we had.
It really hit me hard, but there's a lesson here. I've learnt my lesson and will be making changes to prevent this type of shit from occurring again. With that said, I'm really going to miss the little guy.
