I got back to my little corner in Kaduna, with the sole purpose of making a breakthrough in my thesis. I'd have preferred to be at home right now but judging by the new information that I got from my classmate, we might be required to submit our work.
The project will be split into five chapters; Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results and finally, Conclusion. So far so good, I've made progress in the first three chapters; I've written most of the introduction, reviewed literature and already know the approach I will use to get the result. The main problem is now doing the actual work, which involves running a simulation and then, of course, validating my results.
Due to the lockdown, I haven't really been in contact with my Supervisor because I figured we're all on holiday, but this morning I texted him an idea I have of tweaking the work to suit the proposed design of a UAV. I'm basically supposed to perform a numerical analysis of birdstrike, so doing it for this particular UAV will make my work unique, in the general scheme of things.
It is still early in the morning here, so there has not been any response from my supervisor but he's a pretty chill guy that will most likely be down with the idea. The other thing pending is getting the designs and other important data from my colleagues that worked on the wing and fuselage of the said UAV because those are the areas that are susceptible to birdstrike damage.
So it is tiny progress but hopefully, will be enough to make my life a lot easier in the long run. I would really like to put this project behind me and start focusing on other things in life. It is literally the last roadblock standing in the way between me and my Master's degree.
