Working from home isn't a new concept to people on Hive. For most of us, content creation or programming has been our main activities for the past few years and we've been able to grow our crypto bags through it.
Today I wanted to give you a short tour of my home office where all my magic gets done. So.ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my home office.
So it isn't fancy but it gets the job done. My office is a small blue plastic table at a closed corner in my room. The plastic table houses all the important items that I need to produce content and hustle in this crypto industry.
First, and most importantly is my laptop. My laptop is an old model DELL Latitude pro book that comes with second-generation core i5 processor and came with 4GB of Ram when I got it off my friend but I increased it to 6GB. I got it for 50,000 naira($120) around May of 2018, so it has served me for two years. It is heavier than most laptops, sturdy as a rock, and runs some pretty high-end applications like ABAQUS, Solid Works and games like GTA V. Since I got the laptop, I've only had to change the battery and screen once each, and I'd say that's fair for something that has served me so well. The Bluetooth mouse compliments the laptops trackpad and just makes it more convenient for use.
The next in the office is my game controller that's there to stem the time when I get bored. It is actually a PlayStation 3 controller that I got because I wanted Bluetooth wireless access to the system but I've not been able to do it. I use SCP toolkit to connect it to my system that has Blur, Ultimate Ninja Storm4, GTA V and FIFA 18. The FIFA lags but the rest work.
Do you believe in miracles now ?
In the top left of the screen, behind my laptop so out of frame is my wifi dongle that supplies internet to all my devices. Rather than using mobile data with my phone that makes my phone hot and drains the battery, I use that wifi dongle and it makes life easy. On good days I get up to 4mbs but good days are few and far. Most times, I get between 500kbs-2mbs speed.
Last and certainly not least is my trusty sidekick popularly known as Shine Shine Bobo. Star has been my favourite beer for quite a while and I generally like to have a few bottles lying around for "emergencies". It isn't a staple in my office but, it is a necessity. Just like the game controller, it also helps to stem the time when I get bored and has proven to be a source of motivation.
So thank you for visiting and now you know how I get shit done. I'll like to upgrade my laptop and perhaps get a wooden desk in the future. I'll also like to get more beer because you can never have enough beer.
