Chandannagar is a French colony located in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. The holy river Ganges of India flows by the side of this town. There was domination, so there is French culture as well as Bengali culture. The wonderful combination of these two cultures has created a uniqueness here.
This city is completely different from other cities in West Bengal. Here the samples of Indo-French architecture are spread all over the city.
There are many opinions about the name of this Chandannagar. As history says somewhere, the name Chandannagar comes from the name of the Hooghly river. To see the bend of the Hooghly river is like a half-moon. (Moon) city (city). Besides, there is evidence in many documents that this city used to have a large sandalwood trade. Since then, the name of this city has been Chandan Nagar.
I wanted to visit this sandal town for many days. My elder brother also wanted to see the French architecture for many days. Since then I have been looking for time to go. I got to go last winter. So I went out with my family. We rented a car. There were 6 members in our group. At 8 am we left for Chandannagar. On the way, we enjoyed many beautiful landscapes. It took us about 2 hours to reach our destination. I got off.
We want to tour the city. Before that, we spent some time in the cool environment of the river. The wonderful environment. The cool air of the river filled our minds. We all did a little photoshoot there. Then we ate light food in a nearby restaurant. The name of the church is The Sacred Heart Church of Chandannagar. This church was started by Augustinian monks in 1688. Later it was Sacred Heart of Jesus. Its name is dedicated.
The church is much more beautiful and peaceful. The house of worship should be like this. The mind becomes pure and calm when you go here. There are portraits of Jesus and Mother Mary all around. The mind is filled with joy when you see it. This free entry for people of all religions indicates a strong society. This is what we want, this is our future.
