Saludos amigos.
Last week it rained almost every day and I think this week will be the same, since yesterday it has been raining. I don't like rain very much when I'm away from home, but since we are in quarantine, I enjoy it from my home. I like the smell of wet earth when it rains and also good that it does the plants receive rain water. They are more alive, their colors stand out more and those without leaves turn green again.
La semana pasada llovió casi todos los días y creo que esta semana será igual, desde ayer está lloviendo. No me gusta mucho la lluvia si estoy fuera de casa, pero como estamos de cuarentena, disfruto de ella desde mi hogar. El olor a tierra mojada cuando llueve me gusta mucho y además bien que le hace a las plantas recibir agua de lluvia. Ellas están más vivas, sus colores resaltan más y las que no tienen hojas vuelven a reverdecer.
Everything in life is necessary, we cannot live alone with the sun, we also need the rain. I also enjoy how cool the weather gets. Lately the heat was strong, and now the weather is very cool, it's nice and the truth, I like the cold more than the heat, since I was a child.
Todo en la vida es necesario, no podemos vivir solo con el sol, también hace falta la lluvia. Disfruto también de lo fresco que se pone el clima. Últimamente el calor estaba fuerte, y ahora el clima está muy fresco, es agradable y la verdad, a mi me gusta más el frío que el calor, desde que yo era una niña.
The cold causes me to drink hot things, like hot chocolate, they are my favorites when the weather is cold, I also craved a soup last week. The soups are usually weekend but since now every day seems like a weekend, the day did not matter and I prepared a delicious soup.
El frío hace que me provoque tomar cosas caliente, como un chocolate caliente, son mis favoritos cuando el clima es frío, también me antojé de una sopa la semana pasada. Generalmente las sopas son de fin de semana pero como ahora todos los días parecen fin de semana, no importó el día y preparé una rica sopa.
When I was little my mother and grandmother gave me so much soup that I came to hate her, and I did not like soup at all, however when I got married, my mother-in-law made soup every weekend without fail, the difference is that she was Oriental (from the east of my Venezuela) and the Orientals have a very good hand for cooking, my mother-in-law's soups were delicious, and I really liked her soups, I still remember them and sometimes I would like a soup that she made.
Cuando estaba pequeña mi mamá y mi abuela me dieron tanta sopa que llegué a aborrecerla, y no me gustaba para nada la sopa, sin embargo cuando me casé, mi suegra hacía sopa todos los fines de semana sin falta, la diferencia es que ella era oriental, (del oriente de mi Venezuela) y los orientales tienen muy buena mano para la cocina, las sopas de mi suegra eran deliciosas, y me gustaban mucho sus sopas, aún las recuerdo y a veces quisiera una sopa de las que ella hacía.
Finally I learned to make soups, now I understand how nutritious they are and the important thing is that my daughters and my husband like the soups that I make with love.
Finalmente aprendí a hacer sopas, ahora entiendo lo nutritivas que son y lo importante es que a mis hijas y a mi esposo les gusta las sopas que les hago con amor.
