"There's no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish."
~Michelle Obama
It's women's day!
A woman that I am, I am grateful,
Grateful for the women before me who paved the way that I may live in a sane and beautiful time now.
Grateful for the women of this time, the women with me, who are committed and striving to break down barriers for the ones to come.
No adjective or tag or appendage will ever be able to describe or qualify who you are. Who we are.
We need not be anything extra than who we are: a woman!
Because,
Our greatest weakness is being a woman.
Our greatest strength is being a woman.
It is up to you(to us) to decide which truth defines us.
That you are a woman is enough.
Being a woman is powerful enough. And strong enough. And successful enough. And bold enough. It is complete in itself.
Today...
We celebrate the achievements of women; great and small.
We celebrate the beauty that is women.
Today I celebrate our resilience, doggedness, strength, goals, aspirations, ideas, our contribution and the power in our voices.
And now...
To the women who bore us
To the women who taught us resilience.
To the women we look up to.
To the women, our friends, who act as a soft landing for us
To the ones who by being here are showing us that we could be anything and everything we ever imagined and even better
To the strong and independent women who has her life together.
To the confused and struggling woman
To the woman who is waddling through the pain of life
To the woman who is suffering yet managing to keep her head up.
To the woman smiling inspite of the tears.
To the woman who believes, who loves, who gives, who by just existing blesses the world.
To the wild spontaneous woman, the woman with scars, the woman with ambition, the confused woman, the struggling woman, the simple woman.
Today,
On this special day,
I raise my glass, to celebrate you and everything that you represent
I celebrate the sleepless nights, the aching heart, the fears, the dreams and especially the future.
I see you. I know you.
You matter. You are beautiful. You are a powerhouse. A life-giver.
You are enough.
You are loved.
Happy International Women's Day!
