Day 8/9 - Something didn't feel quite right about the entire test set we built. It took us a few days to figure it out, and it's pure aesthetical. The trees are simply not big enough and there was too many of them, which ultimately is distracting the attention away from the proposed protagonist of the film, which is the small plant battling it's way to maturity.
We discovered by accident that if the tip of the landscape is in silhouette, it creates a nice image for the very start of our animation, where the sunrises and light cascades over a baron scape. When we added multiple trees to create the illusion of a forest it just looked cluttered, see below;
So we crushed all those tree's into what looked like a big fat jobby and made a new tree, bigger, chunkier and significantly more majestic. See the time-lapse below of me crafting it.
Anyways, it's been a good morning in the studio, not so much the crypto markets...
Peace, Cotton.
