Since 2014 Mercedes have dominated Formula One placing a massive target on their backs. Every other team is trying to knock them off the top spot yet they keep getting better and better. Other teams have dominated in the past as well like Ferrari winning from 1999 to 2005 also being finally beaten after 6 years.
if Mercedes can pull off victory again this year then they would have eclipsed all the other teams that have competed in this event by winning 7 times in a row. This is not easy as technology moves at such a pace and it is normally a matter of time before someone has the light bulb moment and leaves everyone in their wake.
Williams,McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari have all been there at the top of their game in previous years and it is only a matter of time before one of them knocks Mercedes off the top spot yet again.

Toto Wolff has built a little empire though and having the best people around him is how you ride success. This is not about Hamilton or Bottas but about the team and what they build together. The drivers are just completing all the hard work and endless hours that others put in.
Hamilton is a good driver and will go down in history as one of the best ever but it is the car that has got him there. I could name a good few drivers who if they were driving the package Mercedes was putting out they would be winning as well.

First car for 2020 revealed by Haas. Looks seriously good and hoping for a better season this year as the last 4 years they finished 9th,6th,4th and 9th so they need to get back what went wrong.
When Williams were winning everyone was envious of the drivers as that was the dominant car and team ( 8 titles in 16 years). They had the onboard computer that helped with the traction control driving the car faster and more safely until it was deemed too much of an advantage bringing the team back into the pack of rivals.

This is what the FIA does trying to make everyone equal and I find it very wrong. We are all different so why make everyone the same by clipping their wings as this is a sport led by technology and innovation and is the birth place of so many new and innovative ideas.
The FIA should be there to oversee safety standards protecting the drivers on track yet their interference has put many in harms way. Banning the traction controls on Williams can be argued was the reason for Senna crashing as that car the year before never had any such problems.
I see the FIA as an interfering busy body looking after a few of the old school teams who cry foul when they are not winning. The budget cap that comes into play has so many grey areas that the likes of Ferrari can get away with virtually anything they want.
I am talking about the spend on engines with Ferrari spending a good $1.4 Billion over the last 7 years but those are on internal books in the Ferrari factory not billed to the racing teams budget. Mercedes spent a reported $1.2 Billion developing their engine so what chance do the FIA really have of getting a Ford or an Audi into Formula One?
They have tried to make the sport more affordable by forcing the teams to all have the same body parts on certain items. Having the data and information available for other manufacturers to copy the engines saving them the time developing them. A blue print short cut if you like which I find very wrong as that is not their information to give out and belongs to the engine building teams that supply engines currently.
The FIA is fighting a losing battle though as technology moves at such a pace teams can never be equal and why the sport changes all the time.
