Now that the sport has quite literally been taken away from me I have decided what better way than to get into shape. We get stuck in bad habits always procrastinating and never get around to actually doing much about it.
I see this as the perfect opportunity to get back the body that I once had and make a massive effort over the next few months to roll back the years. Nothing stupid like a 20 Km run to kick me off but ,something a little less off putting.

Normally when I start something I have to have a goal otherwise what is the point. I know me and how I think so I need to do it over a few stages. I have done it before and normally the first 2 weeks are the worst.
This week will be walking followed by jogging next week followed by jogging and the exercise bike thereafter. I have no idea what I weigh but the aim should be to be 100 Kg's by the end of June/July. I am guessing I am in the 115 kg range right now give or take a kg either way.
On previous weight loss programs I was just over 120 Kg's and lost 10 kg's in three months. With cooler weather now arriving as summer draws near this is the best time to get active. I know once you get the core temperature up it is amazing the calories you can burn. Not only that but you kick start your metabolism so it burns fat away on days you don't even train.
I will weigh myself over the next day or so and kick start this off on Saturday. You will be amazed at what is possible once you set your mind to it as there is no dieting involved. I love my food too much so that isn't going to be sacrificed one bit. This is not a diet, but an exercise program and nothing else.
By the 10 the week or so from previous experience I will be losing around 1-2 Kg's per week and that is achievable. This is not a drastic weight loss as it takes time to get to this point and once you are at your goal weight a couple of days a week will be required to maintain it. That is probably harder than the training to maintain to be quite honest.
I am not a spring chicken anymore (52) so I cannot just go crazy ,but then I am not past it either so now is the time to get back into shape again. I had to slow down a couple of years ago due to a blood clot that hit my lung and now I need to do this for myself and get myself fixed.
