These are my usual meal prior for my dialysis, I would have some boiled eggs, some bread, and some hotdogs if I want to eat some hotdogs in that instance.
I would have to take some phosphate binder after eating my usual meals because eggs for example have around 95 mg of phosphorus each while the egg whites have some negligible amount in them.
The protein in egg whites is really good for providing me my protein needs without much bad stuffs like phosphorus which I really have to control otherwise I will just exacerbate my parathyroid condition.
The hotdogs in the other hand is also rich in phosphates but I am not eating it everyday though plus my phosphate binder will just take care to bind the phosphates that is contained in the hotdog. These hotdogs also will give me the sodium that I needed because I am getting dialyzed so that I won't suffer a severe muscle cramps.
I needed some calories from the bread as well, better if I would eat rice but prior to my dialysis I really have no more appetite anymore so I would just request for some toasted bread which I would dip into some coffee so that I can easily chew and swallow it and finish my food fast before I go to the bathroom.
After dialysis I have to eat because not only toxins from my blood got washed but also some blood sugars and protein compounds so I have to replace them but just eating. The protein in the chicken will fix my protein needs and the carbohydrates will give me the energy and calories and blood sugar to satiate my body's needs for these nutrients.
The sodium from the chicken itself with the gravy also would shed-off my muscle's twitching sensations due to the imbalance done effect of the dialysis process.
I would eat until I am full and would try to rest if I am sleepy but usually I would stay up all night because of the residual effects of caffeine in my system.
After my meal I would then take some of my pear, half a pear fruits every meal so that i will not get constipated as I was also taking some calcium carbonate in each and every meal.
A few hours after my meal I would then take some Gabapentin so that my body can get some relaxation, it also improves me sleep which is what I needed so that I will not get stressed-out with both my mental and physical health.
