It's been awhile since I take a train ride, especially during the pandemic season, public transport has been a major concern of possibilities of contraction. Yesterday I had an opportunity to take a train ride, due to some work arrangement. I actually felt kinda excited and taken many photos to share with you all.
Taken my ticket and proceed to the MRT. Medium rail train system is being one of the latest addition to the city since 2018, once it completed all the stations, it will direct link to my residential area, and I can take one ride all the way to the city center in future.
Haven't you realize? METRO has their own design, and whichever country you go, take a look around in their station, you'll have a Dejavu. It looks somewhat resemble in the movie in New York city, it also reminds me the Train of Busan, and now MRT of Kuala Lumpur.
At the platform, there's been red tape on the floor to indicate safe distance for occupants. I'm not exactly sure if I'm being lucky, not many people during lunch hour? Or was it due ot the pandamic and people not dare to take risk going with public transport.
What did I just say? METRO somehow standardize their transport system, believe to be very good and efficient for cost management. Looking into the train, there's not much crowd either. It's a huge different compare to my previous experience.
After several stops, arrived at my exchange. Being a noob in taking train rides, I made 2 mistake. First I forgot to bring my TouchNGo card, second being idiot enough to NOT buy a day pass. On top of the two things I didn't do correctly, I bought an exit ticket instead of transit ticket. Can't blame me on that, I thought I need to get out of the station and buy ticket again. Little do I know they're now all connected.
Before I get back into the connecting ride, I walked out to take this photo. The white building from far is one of the old sky scraper back in the 80's when my dad brought us here, I was the one whom always been asking my dad how many arcades are there in the building, can we go and pay a visit and spend some token? It's called Dayabumi Complex founded in 1982. Been there once to visit the copyright officer some years back.
Am on the LRT, Light rail train system waiting for my ride, taking time to admire the older part of Kuala Lumpur, where skyscraper doesn't scrape much of the sky.
Trying a panoramic view at the platform, but the fish eye effect proven to be too great since the camera lens is already wide angle. Unless I have a vast sky to snap, the roof of the platform and the train track has spoilt the entire wide screen view.
I switch the camera back to wide angle, left the rest of the settings standard and this makes it looks much better than me having set it my way. This said, the camera knows what I want, where I don't even know what I want. LOL
I got very busy after I boarded the train and started to take photos everywhere, like I'm a tourist. Frankly, I'm still in my uniform. On the side note, I've left the camera phone doing it's thing. I'm merely pressing the screen and snap photo. I realized the exposure is a little too high, and the fact that the train moving, part of the objects in the picture is blurred.
From this direction, the train is headed to Petaling Jaya, which is going out of town. I don't know this place because previously it's a jungle, and now I seen some new building erected here and there, and a huge construction site here indicating that some big building is going to build up here soon.
This is the Malaysia broadcast company's building, called Angkasapuri. Before I continue to explain, let's have a look at it back in the old days

This is exactly why I take this photo. It brings back a lot of memory. The road used to called Federal highway, where it connects between Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. The Angkasapuri marked the only significant building by the hill side since 1968, back then when there's nothing in that area.
The train passing by Pantai area, and tehre houses here looks marvelously comfortable with much green surrounding the entire area.
After some 45 minutes train ride(including me being lost of direction and searching for the correct platform), finally reached my destination. As soon as I got off the platform, the place at the Asia Jaya factory looks just like cowboy town. Don't get me wrong, the place looks clean, but it somewhat looks run down and old. Once again, does it bring back the memory of 80s?
Due to long weekend ahead, many of them already took an extra day off. Even my company given extra half day off for the Muslims so they can prepare to travel back to their home town for the celebration. Federal highway, being one of the most busy road between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya look somewhat relaxing.
Before I reach my office, passing by this beautiful Hilton Hotel, and once again it was one of the most significant building in Petaling Jaya. There are more and more high rise buildings covering the surroundings, which suddenly makes the Hilton Hotel somewhat looks dated. It does looks clean and warm though, compare to the glassy bling bling tall buildings around. Check out a night view from HRS.

Well, that's all for now. I'm glad to have this opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. I've always been driving and too busy manding the car and weaving between heavy traffic, little do I have a chance to slow down and admire. If not due to thise apocaliptic reason, I wouldn't even have a chance to take a huge train tour.
