In one village in the rural area of Aceh, I found a suspension bridge that the community used as a crossing facility between one village and another.
The surrounding community made it as one of the roads leading to community plantation, the suspension bridge which has a length of approximately 100 meters is located in Suak village, Peusangan Selatan sub-district, Bireuen district, Aceh province.
The suspension bridge with the floor is only accessible by two-wheeled vehicles, according to information that I got from one of the residents, previously to cross the river the surrounding community used Getek [a type of crossing boat carrying vehicles]. However, the community must spend a crossing fund of around IDR 5,000 for a one-way crossing.
In 2018 the suspension bridge was inaugurated by the local government and made it a facility of crossing residents in their daily activities to get to the garden and other villages across the river.
