Faerie Girl, Acrylic on Paper, 2016
Ok, so not everything from April 2016 was bad. This is actually one of my favorites of all time. It's a bigger painting than what I typically do, 11x14 inches, and surprises me that I put in so much detail. Usually when working with such a large scale I tend to phone it in a bit and keep light on the details.
I will admit the skin tone choice is a little odd, and her ankles are a bit asymmetrical. The hands are, well, hands, which are such a challenge. But I love the hair, the face, the wings, and the little waterfall in the back. Or maybe it's big but just that far away.
It's a fun fantasy world and I like it. Maybe it's one I should try again with a bit more expertise.
I’m posting every painting I have ever done from 2014 to the present, the good, the bad, and the ugly. With an occasional photograph or sketch thrown in just to mix things up. Check back daily to see my progression as an “artist”!
