So, it is finally happening. Did any of you think anything else was going to come from the so-called discussions? Did you not see this coming? The supposed talks and compromises were only wishful thinking. If they had worked, they would have.
When the "stalemate" carried on, what proceeded was nothing more than delay tactics. Almost everyone knew what was going to happen. However, many still hoped that there would be an acceptable outcome without splitting. That's too bad.
I, for one, saw the vultures and degenerates among us revealed. You can't blame them, of course. After all, they were here for profits. It should come at no surprise that they flee to what they thought would be most beneficial for them.
Anyways, you have heard from the man himself:
It's an appropriate name. Better than some of the other ones I have heard. I get tired of my phone confusing Steem and Steam. It's a missed marketing opportunity, but alas, here we are.
By pure accident, my own profile description has foreshadowed this upcoming change.
The phrase is a translation of an end credit song from an anime. I'll let you do the digging on that. To some of you, it's most likely obvious.
The Price of that Wish
Most Steemians rejoiced when they heard acquired STINC. Finally, they thought, someone who can make Steem great again! The stagnation was becoming unbearable.
A Prelude to Demise
And then, reality hit. There were many issues surrounding the acquisition and signs of a no-so-benevolent being. When the exchanges came together to aid Justin, that threat became reality. Steem has shown the flaws of DPOS. Steem has also shown the theoretical threat of the exchanges is no longer a tale.
Impasse they say, as everything started to fall apart in the new order. The only way it was going was down.
A Hive of Souls
As the rebrand name suggests, that is what our community is. Steem Hive is not a place. It is the sum of the people, the communities, and the interactions. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
Moving Vibes
Not everyone will follow the exodus. Not everyone will feel this current chain ID is worth abandoning. An extreme minority of us stand to benefit by staying. The unknown before those who leave will prove to be a great challenge.
But hey, for some of us, watching this event unfold was more than enough. Many of us learned a lot about people, incentives, and all the other associated attributes on here.
It's time to move. Whatever happens, happens. If you cared only about profit, you should have been in Bitcoin (or some other top project) all along. They are a lot less drama for the most part.
