Changes are something that we all need to do from time to time just to improve our living or way of seeing things because changes have a great impact in our own development during the life, as well as the decisions we take in every single chapter of our book called LIFE.
So how better can we do it that making the movement from a blockchain we've been part of for just a couple of months or even some years? Of course, the decision is being made by each one of us but since there are lots of users who decided to migrate from the other platform, the challenge held by ,
and
which you can read more about it HERE, came right in time so we get to know more people and also help those who were following our posts for so long but didn't really know too many about ourselves.
And I'm one of them. I firstly joined a blockchain community back in December 2017 when all I wanted was just to have a small corner of the internet where I could share my travels from my country with friendly people and change impressions. But during these 2 years, I really had the opportunity to meet some cool guys that made me feel blessed and honoured to talk with, even if I don't do it often. But of course, whenever it happens it's a good chatting time. Since I never was good at making an introduction or writing things about myself, after a while, I joined another challenge where I had to share 10 random things about me, and that helped the people who were following me, to find a few more things about Gabriela who is not just travelling.
And to be honest, with this change to the Hive community, I can't wait to meet even more people and expand my audience, because many of the followers I have are inactive for a long while now and I do want to get to know as many of you, guys. :)
So here we go...
My name is Gabriela, and I'm from Romania.
I got the travel bug since I was very young.. I remember my first journey when I was only 9 years old but most probably my parents were taking me and my twin sister in various journeys even before we were born because they love travelling at least as much as I do and that made us create a beautiful family team for the places we get to visit together.
As my name says I love travelling and I will never stop dreaming that maybe someday I could make a lifestyle from this and a full-time job.
Probably more than 90% of the travel posts you will find on my profile are from my home country, and that because so far I had only one opportunity to get to discover a foreign country which was in March 2019 to Barcelona, Spain. It was my first flight, my first time abroad, my first time discovering myself on other lands than the Romanian ones and it was a blast! Even though it was for only 2 days.
So the single posts you will find on my profile with places visited in a different country than Romania, are those from Spain.
But it's not all about opportunities and how much you can afford travelling to a different country because I do believe that before wanting to conquer the world and discover every single corner of the Earth, we should be responsible on knowing the best our home country because if it's not us who explore it to the fullest and maybe promote it even further, then how could the rest of the world find out about the wonders from your country and want to discover them too?
And that's exactly what I'm doing through my posts and travels in Romania - I discover every single corner of it and share it further. At the beginning, it was fun to just see what others like visiting and go there too and see it with your own eyes, but then I thought about how many places are out there that no one knows them and deserve so more attention from us. So I started seeking for new adventures and journeys and had the pleasure to discover lots of unique places in the world that represent a real treasure for this country. And that's a pretty strong argument for me to keep doing it as much as I can. :)
But since there is this madness with the virus which seems to make the world break apart, that made me dedicate more of my time to the other passions I have, because yeah - I know to do many other things than just travelling, haha.
Travel Videos...
...because when you start travelling and seeing so many places, you realize that just a few travel blogs and pictures about those places are never enough to keep the memories alive in your heart.
I got my first GoPro camera 4 years ago and with each passing year, I started investing more and more in other GoPro cameras because they were the perfect item for me since I spend a lot of time outdoors and climbing the mountains. So a small action camera, waterproof, was safer than any other device. Especially that most of the time I can't use my hands to hold the camera because I'm hanging on various stone walls.
Since then I discovered this passion for video editing and wanting to improve my skills so I get the ability to share the feelings and moods I get while making my first steps to different corners of the world. One of the 2020's goals is to get my hands on a drone so I can get some more angles and visions about the places discovered, especially that they are more imposing being seen from the sky, aren't they?
This is also another dream of mine that maybe someday I can get my YouTube channel monetized and gain more audience with the videos I'm posting. (you can find it HERE)
Graphic Design...
...because the love for art was one of my very first passions. Starting from simple drawings, to editing pictures and then having the ability to create graphic artworks through just a few programs.
When I firstly opened Photoshop was when I was just 11 years old, and I was hella scared by all the options the program have to create all kind of things, but that made me also very curious to learn how to use it and make art be born through just a few clicks. So I started spending lots of my free time by watching different tutorials from the internet and try reproducing them even if I was literally doing something alike and not come with something new. But that was helping me get to know the program better and all the options it has. I never thought those moments are going to be useful during my life because I never was supported to follow my artistic part and that's how I ended up graduating a highschool about chemistry and biology and then get to a college about finances and banks.
Pretty funny, huh? No connection between none of my 3 stages of life.
So as soon as I graduated the college I was more determined than ever to stop following others' advice since I felt like I was living their lives and not mine, and focus more on this niche. Since October 2019 I activate as a freelancer, working with various brands, artists, and businesses and create beautiful things for every single customer I have. It's a process that requires patience and time to start earning something and can start calling it a real job, but I'm on my way to it. :)
Cooking...
...still another type of creating art..but a tastier one.
A more recent passion is cooking. And I discovered it maybe one year ago when I was so damn curious how hard it is to make a cake home rather than buy it from different shops where you are not even sure what it is in it and also spend a bunch of money for maybe just a piece.
Just like in Graphic Design, I started following tutorials and I discovered how easy it is to do anything nowadays. If we look back on how our parents used to live and not have internet or any source of information, we are on the opposite pole where we actually have more than everything we need to become whatever we want. Because the internet is full of professionals, webinars, courses, tutorials, and so on, which are well detailed and you get all the steps one by one.
I enjoy the most creating sweets rather than usual food, but any moment of cooking is a good one, and who knows? Maybe this could also take a different twist in the future if I ever get the chance to open my own business. :)
And to finish this introduction to another passion which is also one of my first ones, I really love spending some of my free time...
...Gaming
I know, a pretty uncommon passion for a girl - or at least this is what I get from guys who find a girl in online competitions. Which I really don't believe it's a rare or weird thing.
I got to play the first games when I was only 9 years old and a neighbour had a computer where he could play like anything he wanted, so whenever the weather wasn't in our favour to play and walk around, we were spending time at his homeplace breaking up from reality and killing monsters, terrorists, or whatever those games were about at those times. But as we all evolve, so the gaming does.
The graphics and storylines, as well as the games themselves, seem to be with one step before our reality. I often get surprised about how awesome a game can look - even better than a movie!
When I was younger, I used to spend most of my time playing all kind of games, from racing to shooters, from arcade to simulators, from story games to family games, and so on, but now it's just another passion that I get to dedicate myself for a few moments every day or once a few days. And I can't complain about it since if we look outside the window, there are way more risky things than creating your own digital world where everything is nice and safe. :)
So these are a few things about me, other than just the girl who travels as much as she can... and I can't wait to get to know more of you and connect each other! :) There isn't any better moment than meeting others than now when we all are newbies on here.
Last but not least, I post new travel blogs and videos one every 6 days on around 6 PM EET. :)
