All over the world people are spending time in isolation and working from home because of virus-lockdown restrictions. It's been a little difficult for most, the boredom, lack of ability to move about much and the social distance between them and family or friends. It all sounds great at first, a little time in seclusion, but that wears off quickly once reality bites.
I'll admit I've had my moments even despite the fact Faith and I have plenty to do and quite a lot of room to wander about in our house and yard areas.
Having said that I think there's some household members who love the restrictions...Pets!
Lockdown and isolation restrictions means people are home more and pets get to spend far more time with them than normal. This is certainly the case in my household where Cleo and Merlin, our two cats, have been making the most of additional snuggle-time with Faith and I.
You can see Cleo above...I know, she doesn't look very happy does she? This photo was taken immediately after I told her I had to spend the whole day out working today. She was not impressed. She was like..."You're going where? Said with a deadpan expression and disapproving eyes...
I wonder how pets will take it once we all have to go back to work and they are left at home alone for longer periods. I'm pretty sure Cleo will get grumpy, but then work out a way to deal with it...Probably by sleeping it off which is what she does most of the day and night anyway.
I'll be honest, we're enjoying being home with the cats more and it'll probably be us who feels grumpy or sad at having to leave to go to work when things get back to normal...They snuggle up to us as we watch Netflix, come over to play Lego with us and Cleo has taken to sitting on my piano in my office whilst I'm working...Yeah, shouldn't be on there, but our cats rule our household so, yeah, she sits wherever she likes.
Still, coming home to these two bundles of fur is always nice so that's something to look forward to. They greet us at the door when we come home, Merlin meows loudly and Cleo drops to the floor at the door, rolls over and exposes her belly for a rub...It's cute and always makes me smile...It'll be good to come home to that again.
Our cats are thoroughly enjoying virus lockdown but how about yours? Do they act differently having you around more?
