Where on Wednesday twenty six: The Café and custom knives

I've been sitting in a cafe for the last hour or so working (my real job), answering replies on steem and chatting a little on discord with Hive account@freedompoint. I also got the opportunity to eat lunch which you can see pictured. It's a couple of poached eggs on a bed of zucchini and corn fritters and tomato salsa and some other stuff I can't recall...It was pretty tasty though.

I was at the office this morning at 7am and had a productive four hours of work and a meeting prior to coming over here to work on my computer which connects remotely to the server at work; Together with my mobile phone it means I don't really have to spend time in my office if I don't feel like it. I guess that's one of the benefits of my role, autonomy, and I have to say I make the most of it daily. It hasn't just happened of course, I have worked long and hard to place myself in the position I hold and have an obligation to perform, at a high level, against my budget. So, I apply myself, as everyone should I guess.

As I said above, I've been chatting with Hive account@freedompoint who is building me a custom knife. I came across this champ via steem and followed for a while before deciding I had to have one of his knives which I subsequently ordered after some discussions. He is up to day five of the build and you can see it here if you're keen. It won't be long until it's ready for shipping and once paid for will be on its way down here to Australia where it will cut stuff for years to come. I'm pretty excited about having it, feeling the heft of it in my hand and seeing how it cuts. Considering the grade of steel used I suspect it will hold a sharp edge. That's what I wanted, a sharp and durable knife.

The reveal of the finished product should be coming up in the next few days so it will be cool to see how it came out. I have seen some images today and it looks pretty good...Utilitarian is what I wanted, workmanlike and serviceable as I will use this knife in the field. I think he hit on the head!

Anyway, I just thought I'd check in and say hi. I better get back to work, both my real work and steem replies.
