My Bio and Root
This is my first post here and I will start by making the necessary introduction about myself to everyone here. Firstly, my name is Grace Eyo. Eyo means "Endurance", I know so many will be wondering why I spell Eyo this way instead of Eyoh, yeah, I just love it that way without the letter "h", smiles. Call me @Geebeauty on Hive. I'm so much in love with my name reason being that, to some extent, beyond doubt, it has pave ways & paths I could never imagine nor attain on my own, so I can boldly say, " am Grace & am graced".
I am a Nigerian, an indigene of Nsit-Atai in Akwa-Ibom state, but base currently in Port Harcourt for greener pasture. I'd love to be address as @Geebeauty on Hive. I am as well the fifth child & last daughter of my parents, I'm brown skinned and average height.
My Faith
I am a Christian & try endlessly to input my all in kingdom pursuit. My dad is a clergy & he's so devoted to his calling to the ministry, through him, we've got to know deep & our eyes open to some heavenly tidings & realities of life. I would have loved to marry a pastor, but, smiles, to be sincere, heavenly race & pastoring work is not that easy as assumed, it's time demanding & ....
My Family & I
I'm blessed with an amazing family which I cherish passionately. They're the main entity behind my success & present phase of life, especially my dad, he has this special way of touching & motivating me with swift words of encouragement. Yeah, I can still remember vividly, the first day I left home to school (tertiary institution), he gave me a piece of advice I can never forget, which were, the L³ formula: Look, Listen & Learn & he as well added, in every action always; Think, Rethink & Act. These words has stirred the inner man & brought me this far. With that in mind, I can say my dad is "My Hero".
Hmmmmmm lest I forget, my mother also made reference to a popular proverb in Ibibio, "ayin ufok-ifiok ikoño ke ekpad ufien" meaning "A child from a wise home, can never be a coward". And my siblings, they're the best. They've contributed immensely to my life both in finances & prayers, you all are the best. I love you all to the moon. My Academic Journey
I am currently undergoing a degree programme in the University of Uyo, in the Department of Linguistics & Nigerian Languages. By His grace, I'm in my semi-finals, hoping to graduate soon, if only Academic Staff of Nigerian University & the Federal Government will come to an agreement to call off the strike.
I love Business
However, I cease this opportunity (period of strike) to explore & acquire skills & knowledge necessary for my career pursuit & dreams in life, being " writing", rather than being idle. I am very industrious & will wholeheartedly love to go into any lucrative business to become a great business woman, like my role model Dangote.
This reminds me of when I engaged in zobo juice & groundnut business, it was moving smoothly, yeah, the income really worth the stress.
My Passion, Skills and Hobbies
@Geebeauty as the name implies is so much in love & committed to God's work. I engage myself to so many activities & jobs that keeps me busy, I do all these to wear that beautiful smile on my parent's face & in turn get phrase like, "I am proud of you". I am also an hair stylist, which is one of my God given potential in life & this skill (hairdo) has exposed me to face & interact with personalities. To be sincere i find so much pleasure in it. I sing a lot, because music is the only thing that comforts & stir my life up at any point. Singing has a way of explaining all my moods, it connects me to the supernatural realm & elevates my spirit man. Opening my eyes to see beyond realities & challenges of life. And you what, God has so much design this, by blessing me with a bright & angelic voice that melts the hearts. The pictures will speak better..
I, as well, devote most of my time into teaching, both in school & church...u Know why, Cause I love children, yeah, am so much in love with them, their cries, shouts, noise & disturbances fills my heart with joy, cause they're created with a soft & tender heart. A day & moment with them is always a memory to me, yeah, meet with some of them....
I have this undying love for catering, cause i would love to prepare some intercontinental delicacies. Hmmmm, baking, especially cakes & my favourite, Chinese rice.
I also have interest in ICT, though I wasn't opportune to undergo a training on that, I'll wish to do that soon, cause beyond all doubt, we're now in a modernized & computerized world, where eventually everything is based on computer.
I love paying visit & going on vacation to so many places & countries of my dream like, "Paris, California, visit the zoo, orphanage, tourist centers & get to learn new things & happenings in the globe.
I also love making new friends, see & interact with new persons, know their own perceptions of life & share life experiences.
My Mission on Hive
My motive here are numerous, as I had earlier mentioned, to explore & get deep into my writing ability, which (writing) is an exposure to reality & brings out the true mood in us at any point in time, this however, will prepare me for further & higher responsibilities & opportunities. At times when i carry my biro & diary to write, it tends to be as if, am having a conversation with someone, making me pour out my deepest pains, fears & challenges of life, creating images of reality.
Another is to, get to meet with experienced personalities in life. Men & Women of courage, that have seen both the positive & negative part of life. To fasten this ambition, i need to be spiritually & physically inclined, thank God, i have a father & mentor which has never relent effort in building & bringing out the best in me each passing day.
