I have seen 's challenge through the shout out of
and I loved the idea at once, because I already have an ongoing #quarantinechallenges for myself. Actually, I already achieved a few in my check list. Yahhooo!
So, I will just make mention the ones that are still in progress and/or I will start on doing while on quarantine.
TEACHING TO READ
The first in my list is what we call #parentinggoal. Hahaha! 😂 My husband and I are taking turns teaching our four year old to learn how to read. Because of children's short attention span, we have a goal of teaching him for 10 minutes in the morning and another 10 minutes before bedtime, just before reading a Bible story. (If you are looking for a book to read for your kid, you may check this out.)
He is having progress. We are now in letter "D," reading da de di do du. 😊 It's quite a fulfilling job teaching a four-year old! And hopefully, our teaching skills would be set to the next level when eventually this little fellow would be able to read. ❤
WEIGHT LOSS
The next big thing in my list is my weight loss challenge to myself. It is hard to stay fit when you have all the time to be lazy these days, to sit on the coach and watch Netflix and even to binge eat because your husband cooked a very tasty dish! 😢
My friends have even hosted a fun waist line challenge after this lockdown. Hahaha! 😂 The challenge is to see if you gained during the lockdown because of too much inactivity while spending most of the time in the kitchen. Filipinos love to eat. We eat three full meals a day, with RICE in each meal! So, this is a real challenge to stay fit.
Having said all that, I set a personal goal: eat less, exercise more. I am doing intermittent fasting so that I only eat two meals a day. I also challenge myself to exercise at least one hour everyday. I can either divide it into two--30min in the morning after waking up and 30min in the afternoon, or break it into even smaller duration, like 15min each, as long as it would total to one hour everyday.
I have a goal of making 10,000 steps daily but I am having difficulties because the app for tracking my steps is on my phone and it is hard to always have my phone with me. So, I will drop this goal, and stick with my 1hr exercise instead.
As the lockdown is already two weeks in our city, I have seen progress in my weight loss. I weigh 50 kg just before the lockdown, and I already lost one kilo (2.2 lbs). It is a good indicator for me to continue on this personal quest.
I used to be 45kg only, but have been 50kg post partum, and have gained five more kilos after it. 😭 So, weighing 49kg now is a great achievement for me!!! It means that NOW I am at my lightest after giving birth! I hope to shed more off. Though I never dreamed to be back at my old 45-kg-self, but a little closer to that would not be bad, right? 😂 I know, it would be a great boost in my self-esteem. 😊😊
Hence, in this lockdown when I have plenty of time to exercise, I will GIVE IT MY ALL to be back in shape! This is by far my greatest challenge to myself! And hopefully, I CAN ACHIEVE this. I am very hopeful as I see some good results from my efforts. And I guess, I will have to blog about my weight loss progress soon. 😊 Haha! 😂
IRONING
I have plenty of clothes to be ironed, which I couldn't keep up because of other tasks to be done before the lockdown. So now that I have time, my goal is to EMPTY OUT this basket full of unironed clothes! It's pretty simple. But it needs time.
FINISH AN ALBUM
The last but not the least in my bucket list is to finish an album, with its layout and all.
It has been more than three long years. Imagine?!? And I have always dreamed of having the time to do a layout and finish an album and have it printed. NOW IS THE TIME!!!
If I could devote an hour or two everyday to put things together so that it would be esthetically pleasing to the eye, I could finish this 40-page project.
It was also more than three years ago since I last made an album for my son. And with this lockdown, I could make one again. This time, a family vacation to down under.
Thinking about this project excites me. I can't wait to start. I will start tomorrow. If the lockdown is not extended, I only have one week left. That means that I need to make 6 pages everyday so that I can finish it before the end of the lockdown.
I guess this is all for now for my #quarantinechallenges.
Thank you
