My handsome dad owns a little snail farm, he started rearing it some months ago, he is so faithful in feeding it with rotten paw-paw(Carica papaya), and other things he feels fit to feed the snail with, he is so judicious with it, the last time he wanted harvesting, all the snails died which made him feel so sad because all his effort was probably being wasted, but thank God for this time around the harvest turned out all great, and so he decided to harvest it so that we will use in the preparing one of his favourite Soup, Atama soup precisely, a soup prepared by using the Atama leaf which scientific name is Heinsia crinita. The Atama leaf was prepared with palm front together with a little grinded melon. The soup was indeed delicious and tasty.
These are the pictures of the snail with it shellπππππππ
After removing it from it shell he gave it to me to wash.
First I washed it with water, then added saltπππππ
While Washing it I discovered that one of the snail had eggs inside of it, and so I gently removed the eggs to show my little nephew and baby sister since they haven't sent what a snail egg looks like, it was fun all the wayπ.

This was the unwanted parts, yes not all part in the snail is edible or good for consumption, I don't know about you but where I come from not all parts are edible, so I took time to get rid of the non-edible parts.πππππ
After Washing it with salt and garri(processed form of cassava) I also decided to use fermented cassava water to wash it since I couldn't get a lime, alum, or unripe orange. The fermented casava water helps to cut off or take off the slippery stuff on the snail know as mucus or snail slime and in turn makes it hard. After washing it with all those materials, I rinsed it and it was used in preparing the soupπππππ
It was nice helping out in the kitchen, here in the African culture no young woman of my age is expected to be lazy, its one of the criteria for marriage so I wouldn't want to be left outπππ.
Least I forget the rearing of Snail is called Heliciculture.
