I took a trip to my local derelict village hospital, Bangour. It was heavily used to house soldiers suffering from mental health conditions during WWI and afterwards. The local library had a bunch of old images of the place in its prime and I set out to try and take the same images and piece them together.
Above we see the old shop, with a group of soldiers chilling out on the grass. I can imagine the smell of pipe smoke drifting through the air as I took the image.
Ward 33. I wonder what stories these walls tell?
This one took me ages to find. The area is very large with over 200 buildings, however I think I nailed it in the end.
Unfortunately the area, although protected, is currently being developed into housing. An amazing place that will soon be no more.
A portrait of my husband and the puppies, can you spot the blonde one?
I am working my way through all the images I took. I am having difficulty uploading to Hive.
Best Wishes,
Hazel.
