About
Hi, I'm Hohmfry. Like those side dishes you get at good breakfast from waffle house before you start your day at university. But, also like electrical resistance, measured by ohms (Ω).
A little bit about me: I'm originally from Poland, but moved to the states when I was so tiny, I couldn't even walk yet, so I remember nothing of my originating country. I attended private schools here in the states and later made my way to a Jesuit college where I took up Electrical Engineering. It's been about five years since I graduated, and in the time I managed to work my way into a company developing electric automobiles.
My interest rapidly grew in blockchain technologies about 4 years ago, but my real involvement began at the beginning of 2020. It's an endless road, filled with lots of learning, scams, altruistic principles and some greedy con artists. But, it is what it is and I love it. I recently discovered Hive and the possibilities it offered and made my first post 3 months ago. I was discouraged to find it got very little traction, but I believe this is because I didn't write an "About me" yet.
I plan on making more posts concerning the interest of privacy on the blockchain. This ranges from privacy coins to networks that ensure private communication, and private internet access. I learned the hard way what a reduction in privacy for an individual entails and I want to let people know the power of private relationships, private communications, private internet access, and limited data sharing. You could say I'm a privacy advocate. That puts it lightly. We are at war with Big Brother over our data and the rights we have to non-disclosure.
For now, I don't feel comfortable giving my real name, as, well... I don't know any of you and I wouldn't tell a stranger on the street who I am just yet. So in lieu of this, I'll post a picture of my cat, Orangey:
I look forward to posting about privacy awareness within the Hive community and also to become a member of some niche subblogs to wet my palette.
