I have been trying to cut down on plastic. But I live in a country where when they practice no plastic, it is more like they are going to pocket 20cents or whatever the cost of their recycle bags with their branding on it are.
Ok, that's on them. I want to do my part. So I work at bringing my own recycle bags for shopping and containers if it is for takeaway. It could be better, but every little thing counts right? Like the other day, I didn't cook, so brought with me enough containers for the takeaway.
The lady who took my orders almost looked delighted when she saw the containers. She nodded approvingly, took the containers and explained which dish would fit which container. And I swear, she looked like she was ready skip with joy as she walked off. So, in my head, yeah!! They appreciate the whole NO PLASTIC movement.
But I thought better of it because she is the one taking the order. The cook and the person who is packing is in the kitchen and probably on auto mode, doing what they normally do. So, yeah I didn't want to get into a thing. I decided, I could always use the bags for other stuff, thanked her and left.
The second time, I managed it better, but it was just too much work to bring containers. But the guilt of coming home and unpacking all this plastic!!
I am thinking maybe there is a better way to do this without going fishing or having my own chicken coop. If you have any ideas for me, I would truly appreciate it. Do you practice no plastic, and how do you manage these situations? Would really love a tip or two😊
Thank you for dropping in and reading. Till next time, Carpe Diem❣️
