To me this is one of the most active topics of the year. I am not talking about covid itself but about the amount of disinformation, hype, foolishness we are experiencing at the moment. And... most of all, the feeling that one is more entiteled to something than another. This really makes we wonder if everyone just went back into their teenage years. High school behaviour. A bad joke from I don't know where
A colleague of mine was making a banner for another colleague after coming back after sickleave. Then someone else remarked that she didn't receive a banner for when she came back from her sick leave and that this has to be uniformal, otherwise people will feel left behind.
Dont be such a fool. Sometimes this will happen and sometimes it wont. Sometimes this has to do with forgetting something, or with other priorities. Does this make you a bad person? No stuff just happens. With no reason. Live with it.
This is the same with how covid is being handled. Some specific lines of work are complaining that they are the real victims here. And I will not say, it is not easy what these business owners are going through. Their livelihood is being taken from them, their bread, their income. That is hard to digest. But no one is doing this because they want to...
This is the pandemic. And the pandemic isnt really making choices, the pandemic just keeps going.
So whenever people who still have a job and a healthy family working from home are complaining because their two pennies of reimbursed travelexpenses are not being paid...well guess what, you aint travelling that much currently, so that seems more than fair.
Ask the neighbor around the corner who has a bar how he is doing. Ask the stewardness how he is doing. Maybe the dude in the store who is cleaning used to be the stewardess up untill March this year. Or maybe the bar owner and the stewardess are teaming up to open a covid test centre together, to make something useful of their time while they are sitting at home. Or maybe they are waiting for the government to give them more funding for free. You just dont know.
But a lot people are trying to make the most of it and trying to get by. I suggest you do the same. No one has it easy at the moment and wants to continue to live like this. But let's suck it up and do the best we can.
Make the most of it, and dont kill your spouse in the process;)
