The village environment and village culture are completely different from the city environment and culture. The village has some scenes that are never seen in the city. That’s why I live from town to village at the top of my list of favorites. Although the progress from the village to the city is much, much higher. But I like the rural environment more than the city for comfort and enjoyment. Where we are spending our childhood, adolescence and youth. Although I missed all these village environments due to my long stay in the city.
So every afternoon we go out on our rural roads to see the wonderful environment of the village. I enjoy these scenes a lot every day. A few days ago, while walking in the afternoon, I suddenly saw a man catching small fish with a triangular net. I always like the fishing scene. I usually enjoy these scenes very much. So I enjoyed watching the fishing scene of that man and enjoyed the view for a long time.
It is a triangle shaped fishing net and it is known as "Theke JAL or push net" in our area. It can be used to catch small species of fish. I saw the man standing there for a long time to fish and when he saw the small fish he was ready to fish. Then he caught a lot of small fish. However, when he was fishing, I saw a small snake with these fish in the net. After seeing this, I got a little scared along with the man. The man then lowered the snake from the net and the little snake hid in the grass.
Now the lands along the road have been submerged due to monsoon and heavy rains. Moreover rain water and river water are entering the lands as well as some small fish are seen in the lands. As a result, some people are seen walking around with such nets to catch the fish. When they see fish, they keep quiet for a long time and catch them whenever they get a chance.
Seeing all these scenes reminds me of my past. Because fishing and watching fishing scenes were both my hobbies. As a kid, I used to fish a lot, though I didn't eat fish or sell it. But I liked fishing so I would go out fishing with friends or with my younger brother or nephew in the area and come back home with a lot of fish.
With this kind of triangle shaped net I also caught a lot of fish as a child. When it rainy season, I would go fishing with my friends. Although I had to reprimand my mother for that many times, I would still go fishing. I know why fishing seemed like an addiction to me then. So I used to fish in the water even in severe winters.
