Hello! everyone. How are you? I hope all of you are well. I am also fine. I am Bangladeshi and our identity is Bengali.
The relationship of Bengalis with fish is very old. Fish has been a very popular food of the Bengalis since ancient times.Our main food is rice. And if there is no fish with rice, there is no satisfaction in food. We have a close relationship with rice and fish. That is why our identity is "Bengali in fish and rice".
There are many rivers in Bangladesh. Many beautiful native fish are found in these rivers. Moreover, a large number of native fish can be found in the canals, beels and haors. Although the native fish is currently on the verge of extinction.
There was a time when various ceremonies were organized with fish. During my grandfather's time, fish was the staple food of various ceremonies. The taste of native fish food is incomparable.
Currently, due to artificial fish farming, the number of native fish is declining. One of the reasons for this is: the canal beel is filling up, artificial fish is being farmed in the beel, and the native fish is being lost from us as a result of water pollution due to dumping of garbage in the water.
However, at present Bangladesh ranks third in the world in fish production. This is good news for us but on the other hand it gives us para due to the extinction of native fish. Because we have forgotten the taste of native fish.
The number of native fish is decreasing day by day. When I was very young, I used to see a lot of fish in rivers and canals. But now all these fish are on the verge of extinction. As a child, I used to catch fish myself. Although this is not my job, it is a kind of addiction. We used to go fishing with a few friends and catch a lot of native fish. At that time I did not like to eat fish but I liked to catch fish.
A few days ago, my father bought these fish from a fisherman. Native fish is not available. So my father saw the fish and bought it. The fish costs 900 Taka or about 11 $.
