On that day we headed to the middle of the Aceh forest to check the truth of the report about the discovery of the basalt column in the middle of the forest in Sawang, Aceh.
After motorbike riding for a few minutes, we arrived at a place where the journey had to be done on foot. Initially on the road that had just been pioneered for the opening of new agricultural land in the area.
Not long after that we started through the path and then along the path under the forest canopy.
We had to climb a rather steep mountain cliff.
Me, when it's almost above.
Natural scenery from above.
On the way, we found very large wooden blocks, the remnants of deforestation since 40 or 50 years ago.
Take a short break before returning to the forest path.
The journey taken since morning finally arrived at the location of the basalt column a little past noon.
These are pictures of basalt columns that look like taluds on the banks of a clear watery river.
Basalt column, closer.
One of the camps in the middle of the forest near the cliff of the basalt column.
I was very tired and had to get some rest.
The environment where we camped near the basalt column.
The camp where we stayed at night.
The next day, breakfast.
What looks like meat in this dish is actually a river rock. The moss in the river rock makes the taste of the soup cooked delicious.
Look at the maps.
Preparations for the trip home.
On the way home.
