Do you like coffee in the morning?
Drinking coffee at dawn is an interesting activity to do every day. Every morning I wake up with my friends and go enjoy a cup of coffee at a famous coffee shop in my area.
A very unique culture in Acehnese society is that every morning the people here wake up and go to enjoy a cup of coffee with the people closest to them.
You can see from the pictures above that a lot of Acehnese people after performing their morning prayers in congregation, they flock to this coffee shop to enjoy a cup of coffee, breakfast, morning fries, and chocolate coffee.
Coffee shops in Aceh every morning have to wake up and prepare lots of breakfast, coffee grounds, and several other menus for Acehnese, after dawn. The culture of drinking coffee in the morning has become a legend in Acehnese society, this coffee drinking culture started from one of the famous Acehnese figures and heroes during the colonial period carried out by the Dutch against the Acehnese, the hero was named "Teuku Umar", he said a last sentence which is so phenomenal and popular, he said, namely:
“Tomorrow morning we drink coffee, or I will be a martyr (died)”
In the sentence above the Hero "Teuku Umar" invited all Acehnese fighters and the Acehnese people at that time to drinking coffee in the morning just before fighting against Dutch colonialism.
And since then, the culture of drinking coffee in the morning has become a culture and custom that has always been passed down from generation to generation.
