planted
i stood in awe…
such artistry
and intelligence
a product of great patience:
you withstood it all
your trunk reported many years lived
and many seasons seen
when it was time to Fall
you shed leaves on time
in humble acceptance of the times
and when the time came
you let life Spring forth
and grew new ones
to celebrate the new season
a new beginning
you inspired me
to adapt to my life’s seasons
when winds blew
you just danced
as worries flew
away with the wind
i watched you sway
this way and that
your leaves rustled
as you confidently held on
to the weight of your life
and then night fell
but you did not cower
or hide away from dark times
you stood tall
just as though the sun
was still shining bright
rain fell
but you did not complain when it poured
you embraced water’s life-giving qualities
it became apparent to me that
nothing could move you
you were not only down to Earth
but you were rooted too
and that’s what i wanted:
to be planted
Beautiful words shared with me for the first time on this special day by aka hubbylicious. Never in my life have I received such beautiful words in so much depth. I always knew that he was my cuppa tea, but on this special day I was in Awe. Everything that could go wrong happened on the day. Shame, he was so frustrated. Firstly he found out that the spa had booked for me did not accept visa card payments, so that was out of the picture. Secondly he tried to withdraw cash from Mukuru services and after being in a long que he was told that the cash had finished for the day and that he had to return back the following day. Hahahahaha!!! poor man.
Truly the day was not going as planned. Needless to say, the day was a day of no money and means to proceed with his plans. On top of that we were hungry and ended up at the local Nandos franchise for a meal, where I suffered from terrible food poisoning.
This day was just not working out for us in the city of Mutare.
What started off as a perfect day, ended with heavy rains, catching us in the middle of nowhere. Empty stomachs with a healthy bank balance, but no means of utilizing the funds.
I will never forget this day. The only thing that stood out for me was the love, the above poem and the tree that inspired it all.
Pictures before the rain poured on us. Practically stranded with no means of acquiring cash. Its very funny now, trust you me, there was no fun in the funny at that moment. Needless to say kept a cool front all the way. As usual and very robotic, lol. hope I don't get into trouble for that statement.
Different meaning to blue balls all together. In my mother tongue(Sesotho), 'Ho tsamaya ke ho bona' meaning - To walk/to go around is so see.
As we famously say in South Africa - Love lives here!!!
My favourite snack while in Mutare, Flame grilled corn. Best taste ever. Village girl. Most unique and best birthday ever.
That concludes my Mutare visits for now. Keep on the lookout for more ladymwatsi stories and adventures.
Ladymwatsi signing in and out.
Keep on Hiving. Happy Days!!
