View of the stage, perfect to capture the special moment my kiddo nephew steps on stage
This idiot suddenly stands up photo bombing my video. How selfish can people be?!!
Last July I attended my kiddo nephew's graduation ceremony that never happened. After that he spent two months during the summer holidays with us, before moving out to start his master course. That was the first and only time I suffered from empty nest syndrome. Fast forward 12 months, kiddo nephew has graduated from his master's course, with distinction says his very proud aunty!!! And today is his graduation ceremony. Sadly his parents can't be here because of stupid covid rules back home, and the attendance duty fell on us once again, a responsibility that we were more than happy and honoured to take on.
This year, graduation ceremonies were back to normal, none of the social distance problems we had last year. Friends and family were invited to the graduation ceremony in person and the entire atmosphere was so very different from last year. Not to mention it was a beautiful day today. We missed the unbearable heatwave that we had a few days, and had the most perfect day to have a graduation ceremony. It was an absolute joy to see graduands enjoying this day, something that many had been robbed off in the past few years.
LSE is one of the top universities in UK and also ranks pretty high in the world. One thing that stood out today was the diversity of students, something that I'm sure contributes to its success. Many graduands took photos by The World Turned Upside, a 4m globe standing on the north pole giving another perspective of the world. It's these non academic things that help teach youngsters to think out of the box and become more successful person.
Finally it was time for the graduation ceremony. We were seated towards the back but I had a good view of the stage and was ready to take that important 15 second video of kiddo on stage. I nearly succeed had it not been the idiot sitting in front of me who suddenly stood up to take a video of the person who was due to come on after kiddo. He ruined my video and all I could see was his stupid backside. What an absolute fxxking idiot for being so inconsiderate and selfish. After the ceremony, I saw that idiot outside and couldn't resist not give him an earful in public!!
Save that annoying incident, it was a perfect day, and I'm so glad kiddo is finally able to have a graduation ceremony he deserves so much. Congrats kiddo, and welcome to the reality of the harsh world where you really have to work now!!
