Hey guys, it has been a while since I did one of these. There was a time I was dishing them out every week but with all the shit people are making in the name of movies, I haven't actually seen one worth the stress but I guess this one sort of ticks the box.
6 Underground is yet another Ryan Reynold project where we get to see the witty and slightly senile humour from the Canadian born Hollywood star. In this movie about 6 renegades who faked their deaths to become unsung heroes of the world, we get to see an interesting blend of action, humour, and some wicked stunts.
For what its worth, it wasn't a masterclass, but if you're one of those people that like pointless violence, goofy humour and fancy tech then this is the movie for you. It is basically a poor man's fast and furious, without the muscles and meh conversations.
The movie centres around the activities of 6 renegades who chose to live in the shadows and do hero stuff. Their first major task was to initiate a coup that would lead to toppling the Government of a certain Eurasian country led by a cold-hearted, dickhead, Saddam-Esque dictator.
If you're going to make an action movie, you have to throw in stunts, and I mean a lot of them. That's something that this movie certainly didn't lack; whether it is with cars or parkour. The fight scenes were pretty standard too, bar some of those dumbass cliche "protagonist must-win" crap, it had all the hallmarks of a standard Hollywood action flick.
For whatever it had in action and stunts, the storyline lacked substance and it is a very predictable movie. I mean it isn't a movie that will keep you at the edge of your seat or anything like that because of the storyline but at least you'll get to see cool explosions, a cool sniper and one asshole jumping like a fucking monkey between skyrise buildings like he had no care in the world.
Yeah, one last thing, there's a lot of blood, gory scenes and they say fuck a lot, and despite how cool that shit was to me, I don't recommend you watch this shit with the kids around, well, that's if you give enough shit to bother about trivial things like that.
With that said, it is a really fun and popular movie that got a decent IMDB rating of 6.1/10 and yet another Netflix blockbuster that I recommend, preferably with a can of beer for maximum thrill
