Azul y No Tan Rosa es una película muy importante para el cine Venezolano. En 2013 se llevó el primer premio Goya a “mejor película iberoamericana” en la historia de Venezuela. Por eso y muchas razones más, creo se merece una mención especial en mi blog.
Es una película que ha trastocado y removido sentimientos. Llevándome desde la risa, hasta el llanto… y haciéndome llegar a una linda reflexión.
Siendo una película de 2012, es bastante acertada para el cambio cultural y social al que nos adentraríamos en años posteriores.
Azul y No Tan Rosa es una historia que merece ser contada.
Blue and Not So Pink is a very important film for Venezuelan cinema. In 2013 it won the first Goya award for "best Ibero-American film" in the history of Venezuela. For that and many other reasons, I think it deserves a special mention in my blog.
It is a film that has disrupted and removed feelings. Taking me from laughter, to tears... and making me reach a nice reflection.
Being a 2012 film, it is quite accurate for the cultural and social change that we would enter in later years.
Blue and Not So Pink is a story that deserves to be told.
Vayamos a una pequeña sinopsis, citando a la Wikipedia.
Diego, un fotógrafo de éxito, decide irse a vivir con su pareja, Fabrizio, pero, de manera inesperada, se ve obligado a hacerse cargo de su hijo Armando, al que no ha visto en años. En tales circunstancias, su novio tiene un accidente.
Creo que decir eso, ya es muchísima información, pero posta creo que yo no lo podría haber hecho mejor.
Partiendo de esto, parece una historia muy sencilla, pero en mi humilde opinión, ya que no sé nada de cine, y no soy critica, daré a conocer aquellos puntos, que creo, la hacen una buena película.

Diego, a successful photographer, decides to move in with his partner, Fabrizio, but, unexpectedly, he is forced to take care of his son Armando, whom he hasn't seen in years. In such circumstances, her boyfriend has an accident.
I think that saying that, is already a lot of information, but the truth I think that I could not have done better.
Based on this, it seems like a very simple story, but in my humble opinion, since I know nothing about cinema, and I am not critical, I will make known those points, which I believe make it a good film.
Elenco y guion./ Cast and screenplay.
Un elenco que la parte, dando vida a personajes increíbles como “Delirio Ríos”.
Reflejándose así la buena construcción de personajes sólidos, nada planos, o vacíos. Los mismos van evolucionando mediante el film transcurre.
Un guión que, aparte de ser un poco coloquial, cosa con la cual nunca me había sentido muy a gusto en el pasado, termino encantándome con la fluidez y naturalidad que acompañan a cada palabra.
La compañía de estos dos elementos, hace que aquello que se vive dentro de la pantalla se sienta real. Personajes cercanos o íntimos, que te hacen creer que en realidad podrían ser tu familia, tus amigos, o alguien que te podrías topar en la calle.
A cast that parts it, giving life to incredible characters like "Delirios Rios".
Thus reflecting the good construction of solid characters, nothing flat, or empty. They evolve through the film.
A script that, apart from being a bit colloquial, something I had never felt very comfortable with in the past, ended up enchanting me with the fluidity and naturalness that accompany each word.
The company of these two elements makes that which is lived on the screen feel real. Close or intimate characters, who make you believe that they could really be your family, your friends, or someone you might bump into on the street.
Humor y Venezuela./ Humor and Venezuela.
El manejo del humor en esta película es importante. Este recurso lo utilizan de manera eficaz para hacer guiños a situaciones que demuestran a una sociedad infestada de intolerancia a la diversidad. Una sociedad llena de viveza, que busca siempre el ladito de donde sacar provecho individual a una situación, y por supuesto, creyente fiel y consumidor voraz de la televisión.
Esto se refleja en la participación de la actriz Daniela Alvarado, como la esposa del hermano del protagonista (Diego), haciendo referencia a que prefiere tener un hijo delincuente, que “maricon”. Todo eso en una mesa familiar donde se encuentra su hijo. Un tema de conversación que salió a raíz de un programa de tv en el que se expresa que la homosexualidad, es consecuencia de un mundo lleno de “depravación, libertinaje y degradación”.
La película tras sus personajes pintorescos, también nos deja vislumbrar algunos paisajes venezolanos. No son mezquinos a la hora de documentar el viaje de nuestros protagonistas a Mérida. En este, el expectante puede tener la sensación de que realmente está recorriendo junto a los personajes, la región andina del país.
The handling of humor in this film is important. They use it effectively to wink at situations that demonstrate a society infested with intolerance to diversity. A society full of vividness, always looking for the side from which to take individual advantage of a situation, and of course, a faithful believer and voracious consumer of television.
This is reflected in the participation of the actress Daniela Alvarado, as the wife of the protagonist's brother (Diego), making reference to the fact that she would rather have a delinquent child than a "faggot" one. All this at a family table where her son is. A topic of conversation that came out of a TV program in which it is expressed that homosexuality is a consequence of a world full of "depravity, licentiousness and degradation".
The film behind its colorful characters also gives us a glimpse of some Venezuelan landscapes. They are not mean when it comes to documenting the journey of our protagonists to Merida. In this one, the expectant can have the sensation that he is really traveling along with the characters, the Andean region of the country.

Comentarios homofóbicos normalizados.
Como el que mencione anteriormente, o el del padre de Diego en esa misma escena, al preguntarle su nieto “¿Qué es un gay y una lesbiana?”. Son aquellos que todavía abundan en una sociedad ignorante al cambio.
Aunque el protagonista no es una persona que esconda su orientación sexual, y la mayoría de personas a su alrededor lo acepten, existe aquel personaje –que en verdad representa a ese grupo de personas que se niegan a aceptar la homosexualidad– y se muestra como el padre de Fabrizio (pareja del protagonista), dejando a Diego, sin oportunidad de visitar a su pareja en la habitación del hospital.
Problemas comunes, pero poco vislumbrados.
Durante la película no solo vemos los problemas en la vida de Diego, sino también de su hijo, Armando, quién atraviesa una adolescencia llena de inseguridades, que de no ser tomadas en cuenta, podrían evolucionar a importantes trastornos alimenticios.
La importante decisión de Perla Marina entre la disyuntiva de tener o no un hijo producto de una relación llena violencia domestica hacia su persona. Nunca demandada por su errada creencia de que se trataba de una situación que se encontraba bajo su control.
O como incluso Delirio Ríos, a pesar de ser una coreógrafa talentosa, que lleva a cabo importantes eventos artísticos reconocidos por la prensa de su país, necesita hacer presentaciones especiales en un club gay de la capital, para conseguir el dinero faltante y así pagar sus deudas.
Standardized homophobic comments.
Like the one I mentioned earlier, or that of Diego's father in that same scene, when his grandson asked him "What is a gay and a lesbian? They are those who still abound in a society ignorant of change.
Although the protagonist is not a person who hides his sexual orientation, and most people around him accept it, there is that character - who in truth represents that group of people who refuse to accept homosexuality - and is shown as the father of Fabrizio (the protagonist's partner), leaving Diego, without the opportunity to visit his partner in the hospital room.
Common, but little-known problems.
During the film we see not only the problems in Diego's life, but also in that of his son, Armando, who is going through an adolescence full of insecurities, which if left unchecked, could evolve into major eating disorders.
Perla Marina's important decision between having or not having a child and having a relationship full of domestic violence against him. She was never sued for her mistaken belief that it was a situation under her control.
Or how even Dolores Ríos, despite being a talented choreographer, who performs important artistic events recognized by the press in her country, needs to make special presentations in a gay club in the capital, to get the missing money to pay her debts.
La película es una oda al amor, la tolerancia y al respeto a la diversidad. Se nota el amor puesto por cada una de las partes que hicieron posible materializarla.
