When your life is all torn up, the smallest thing you can do is celebrate every little win you achieve.
No matter how small that is, try to tell someone about your small wins. There are many benefits of celebrating the small wins daily. Many articles have written about this particular topic. But again, I would like to remind myself and my readers on the importance of celebrating wins, especially when you’re in the pits.
Every so often, We beat ourselves up. We are too busy chasing perfection until we forget how meaningful all the little things we do. As many of us, I have a tendency to do it as well. I keep forgetting how little things I do impact my life. Simply put I care more about the macro more than the micro activities. While in fact, our life is an accumulation of our tiny bits of daily habit.
After a while, celebrating a small win may help us achieve our goals. Do you want to lose weight? Start by celebrating the fact that you manage to drink 8 glasses of water/day. And that was something I did today. Instead of waiting when I lost my first 5 pounds, I congratulated myself after successfully drinking 8 glasses of water in a day.
As a result, I was more confident about my weightloss journey and wanting to constantly keep the habit on track. There are many other examples that I have been doing lately and have tremendously lifted my mood and overall satisfaction about myself. That being said, I also try to celebrate a few lines of code I try to write. Then, get back on it the next day.
Celebrating a small win is also a minor milestone. It helps us with moving towards our bigger project as we keep up the momentum. No matter how small things we do, it will still contribute to our progress.
Celebrating a small win is part of self-motivation. Occasionally, you have to rely on yourself to get things done. This is where this habit will benefit you most. When nobody is there to give you motivation, just whoop your wins up. This will constantly keep your momentum and you will no longer rely on outside sources to find motivation.
So, don’t wait until someone motivates you to achieve your goals. Start today with celebrating your small wins. Particularly at this point when productivity and morale are on the winds.
